Jet2 announces new routes to 'magical' European destination for winter 2024 - visitors say it's 'stunningly picturesque'

Many Britons will be starting to plan ahead for their winter getaways and Jet2's new route is sure to delight holidaymakers.
Jet2 revealed that Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks are announcing "good news for next winter". as they announced the launch of a "brand-new Christmas market destination". Britons will now be able to fly from Birmingham and Manchester to Gdańsk, Poland.
Jet2 said: "The leading leisure airline and UK’s largest operator of European city breaks are continuing to respond to exceptional demand from customers looking to explore some of the most magical destinations in Europe throughout the festive season, and have now launched festive flights and city breaks to Gdansk in Poland for the first time in response."
Jet2 and Jet2CityBreaks will operate scheduled services and dedicated trips to Gdańsk from Birmingham and Manchester Airports.

Flights will be from November 29 to December 23, 2024, the perfect time to get away over the festive season.
Two weekly services will operate from the airports during this time on Mondays and Friday.
This will "give customers and independent travel agents plenty of choice and flexibility when it comes to enjoying an authentic festive experience over the Christmas season to the Polish city".
Jet2 continued: "The Gdańsk Christmas Market is considered one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Europe, and from November the Targ Węglowy area transforms into a winter wonderland with fairy tale illuminations, fairground attractions, a food zone, handmade gifts and local delicacies, and live artistic events.
"With a short flight time of just over two hours, the compact city, which was voted the second best Christmas Market destination in Europe, offers a picturesque and historic festive experience."
The airline said that Gdańsk has plenty to offer in addition to its "beautiful Christmas market".
The city is brimming with attractions, including the Museum of the Second World War, Gdańsk Old Town, and the Dlugi Targ (Long Market).
One visitor to the Old Town described it as "stunningly picturesque". They posted on Tripadvisor: "Europe is dotted with picturesque 'old town' areas but there was something about Old Town Gdańsk that I just could not get enough of. It will take me forever to sort through all of the pictures I took.
"We spent time in Old Town both day and night in order to capture as much of the ambience as we could and never got tired of it. Even on my last day in town, I jogged through in the morning just to feel the ambience one last time. It is free to be there and there are endless restaurants, shops, and entertainers as well as museums."
Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks will operate to eight Christmas market destinations for Winter 24/25: Gdańsk, Berlin, Budapest, Cologne, Copenhagen, Krakow, Prague, and Vienna.
Britons can reach these wintery destinations from across 11 UK airports: Belfast International, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool John Lennon, Manchester, Newcastle International and London Stansted.

PA IMAGESAs well as Jet2's new routes, the airline and tour operator has added additional capacity to other popular Christmas market destinations already on sale, extending the Winter 24/25 season to some of these festive favourites as well.

Recently Jet2 was named "best" short-haul economy airline by Which?. The consumer champion stated: "Regularly rated the UK’s best airline by passengers in our survey, Jet2 has gone from strength to strength in recent years."
However, Britons were warned that another airline is "best avoided".
