Jet2 announces new flights to 'picture-perfect' island with 'world-famous sunset' for summer 2024

With the help of Jet2, more Britons can experience the magic of Santorini, whether they're jetting away with a significant other, holidaying with friends and family, or embarking on a solo trip.

The airline has announced it will launch new Sunday services from Manchester Airport to the popular holiday hotspot.

Jet2 explained that the addition of these new services, which run from July 21 to September 1, 2024, along with three other existing services (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), means that there are four weekly services on sale to Santorini during Summer 24.

The airline said: "The new services are perfectly timed for newlyweds who have tied the knot on a Saturday and are looking to head off on their honeymoon immediately after the big day.

"Couples and families can also take advantage of the additional flights and enjoy a week-long getaway or longer on the idyllic island.

"Whether holidaymakers are looking to soak up the breathtaking views along the caldera, see the world-famous sunset at Oia, enjoy the local vineyards, or take in one of a number of key archaeological sites, such as ancient Akrotiri, a Minoan settlement preserved under volcanic ash, the picture-perfect island offers it all."

Visitors to Santorini should check out Santo Winery, which is home to a modern winery, tomato processing factory and a wine tourism centre.

Or, take in the beauty of Santorini on the hiking trail from Fira to Oia. One tourist told Tripadvisor: "The hike from Fira to Oia was my favourite thing we did in Greece."

However, they did warn that it was a challenging walk because it is "long but with not much shade".

The Santorini announcement comes as Jet2 announced seven "brand new" flight routes to holiday hotspots in Greece.

In Summer 2024, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate to a total of 14 Greek destinations. Athens, Corfu, Crete (Chania), Crete (Heraklion), Kalamata (Peloponnese), Kefalonia, Kos, Lesvos, Preveza, Rhodes, Santorini, Skiathos, Halkidiki and Zante are all available to British holidaymakers.
