Barcelona-based budget carrier Vueling has unveiled its first signature cocktail alongside the most comprehensive menu overhaul in the airline's history.

The IAG-owned carrier introduced 'Vueling in the Clouds' as part of a summer refresh that expands its in-flight offerings to more than 70 items. The menu transformation includes 28 new products, with a move towards greater dietary inclusivity.

The airline has substantially increased its selection of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free choices, responding to evolving passenger preferences.

The initiative represents Vueling's latest effort to enhance the budget flying experience whilst catering for different dietary requirements and restrictions.

The signature cocktail combines ingredients from across Europe, featuring cava and ratafia from Barcelona, British gin, Italian limoncello and French elderflower liqueur.

The drink arrives topped with candyfloss, creating what the airline describes as a "memorable twist" for passengers kicking off their holidays.

The expanded menu has a number of plant-based and allergen-free additions. Vegan options now include a Heüra plant-based burger and Oatly mochaccino, whilst vegetarian passengers can select items such as Margherita pizza.

The airline has also introduced carefully labelled products for gluten-sensitive travellers, and it will be easier to spot suitable options throughout the menu range.

One standout addition is the Berry Blend bar from Creative Nature, a completely vegan snack free from all 14 major allergens.

More items on the refreshed menu include popular sweet treats like Maltesers, Twix, Lotus Biscoff biscuits and tinned pineapple chunks. Savoury selections comprise a tapas box containing cured meats, olives, soft cheese and breadsticks.

These additions reflect Vueling's commitment to offering greater variety and safety for passengers with allergies, expanding beyond traditional airline catering limitations.

Beyond the flagship cocktail, Vueling has expanded its beverage selection to include classic cocktails such as Piña Coladas and Mojitos, plus premium Patrón tequila. Non-alcoholic alternatives feature kombucha, ColaCao Energy, Aquarius lemon water and Schweppes grapefruit.

The carrier has also broadened its hot beverage offerings with an extended range of Twinings herbal teas and infusions. These menu updates form part of Vueling's wider strategy to enhance the low-cost flying experience.

This comes as Jet2 overhauls its summer menu, including new items and meal deals from £6. The new meal deal will cater to children and features ham or cheese sandwiches alongside a sweet treat, such as Freddie's Fruit Bar Raspberry, My Favourite Bear Chocolate Biscuits, and six-packs of Oreos.
