The UK transforms in winter, with frosted fields, low sunlight and crisp days, and going for a long walk is a brilliant way to take it all in.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, an expert has highlighted the three best places to do this across Britain.
Starting in Scotland and the Cairngorms National Park is a beautiful option, according to travel expert and president at International Citizens Insurance, Joe Cronin.
He said: "During the winter season, the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland gets blanketed in snow and transforms into a winter wonderland for travellers.

Cairngorms National Park in the north of Scotland is great for a winter walk
| PA"The magnificent views, frosted pine forests, and tranquil An Lochan Uaine (Green Loch) make the Ryvoan Pass trail feel like stepping straight into a Christmas postcard.
"The weather is crisp, and the occasional sighting of a reindeer adds to the holiday feel."
The national park can be found in the northeast of Scotland, and it is home to a quarter of the UK's rare and endangered species.
There are various routes depending on the intensity of walk you want, with plenty of viewpoints to stop and take it all in. In England, Cronin suggested looking to the Lake District for some of the most stunning landscapes.

He added: "The Lake District’s Tarn Hows is one of the best places to visit. Taking a circular walk around the tarn, you shall be able to take in the marvellous, winter-capped mountains hovering over the water.
"During the Christmas holidays, the area’s tranquillity and the opportunity to see the red squirrels make this walk even more magical."
Britons searching for nature are spoilt for choice when visiting the Lake District, but the man-made Tarn Hows is one of the most beautiful options.
Finally, the travel pro suggested heading north if you are in search for the best walk in Wales.

Snowdonia has various trails offering incredible views of the mountains
| GETTYHe explained: "In Wales, the Llanberis Path in Snowdonia offers a more moderate climb with views of the entire mountain.
"The path has a more rustic charm in December, and combined with the nearby village of Llanberis, which has a warm, festive spirit, the frosty scenery is even more delightful."
