A travel expert has exclusively shared the British beaches you should add to your list

You don't need to board a flight to find a beach worth spending a sunny day on.

With UK temperatures expected to remain high this week, why not visit one of the country's best offerings, which can make you feel like you're abroad?

To help narrow down the options, travel expert and CEO of MPV Rental Eamonn Turley suggested four parts of the UK that should be on your list: Bournemouth beach, Rhossili Bay, St Ives beaches and Bamburgh beach.

Bournemouth beach in Dorset

This is one of the most popular beaches in the country, and it is no wonder. Not only is it close to the city centre, it boasts clean sands and clear waters.

Eamonn told GB News,: "It is one of the most accessible and well-developed beaches in the UK. It stretches over seven miles and is known for its fine, golden sand and clean, Blue Flag-certified waters.

"What sets Bournemouth apart is its balance between leisure and infrastructure. The beach is only a short walk from the town centre, and nearby accommodations range from boutique hotels to large conference-friendly venues like the Bournemouth International Centre.

"The pier offers restaurants, arcade games, and zip-lining, which adds a fun, teambuilding-friendly edge to any corporate retreat. Plus, it’s only a two-hour train ride from London, which makes it ideal for international business delegates flying into Heathrow or Gatwick."

Rhossili Bay on the Gower Peninsula in Wales

If looking to spend a day by the sea in Wales, this could be the one for you. It is an unspoiled beach with dramatic views.

The travel pro continued: "This spot is often cited by travel publications as one of the best beaches in Britain, and even the world.

"This three-mile stretch of unspoiled coastline is backed by rolling hills and cliffs that overlook the Atlantic Ocean. What makes Rhossili perfect for business travellers looking to escape the usual hustle is its tranquil, almost untouched atmosphere.

"It’s ideal for wellness retreats, guided coastal hikes, and photography walks. Though it’s more remote, accommodations like the King’s Head Inn or local countryside lodges offer a peaceful and picturesque setting for small executive gatherings."

St Ives, located in Cornwall

Head to St Ives, where the expert couldn't choose just one beach, but recommended many in that area. Visitors won't be short on things to do, either, as there is a lot to do and explore in the town.

Eamonn said: "It offers multiple beautiful beaches, but Porthminster and Porthmeor are particularly outstanding. Porthminster is sheltered and perfect for swimming, while Porthmeor attracts surfers and more adventurous types.

"What makes St Ives special is the town itself - filled with art galleries, local seafood restaurants, and stunning sea views, it's a culturally rich environment that fosters creativity.

"Many companies choose this destination for corporate retreats and workshops because it’s both inspiring and relaxing. The Tregenna Castle Resort and Carbis Bay Estate (which hosted the 2021 G7 Summit) offer world-class conference and wellness facilities right by the sea."

Bamburgh beach in Northumberland

Bamburgh beach is a fantastic option in the north of England, particularly good if you are looking for an active break spent surfing or enjoying a long walk. It is also dog-friendly, so your furry friends can join you.

The expert said: "This is a striking location with its vast, windswept sands and the iconic Bamburgh Castle looming on the dunes. It’s a less commercialised beach, which adds to its charm.

"Perfect for more intimate executive escapes or historical tours, Bamburgh offers a unique, storybook-like atmosphere.

"The beach itself is ideal for coastal walks, and nearby venues like Doxford Hall Hotel & Spa can provide a luxurious stay while keeping you close to nature. Plus, the dark skies here are ideal for stargazing evenings - an elegant, unusual way to close a business event or reward high-performing teams."
