Enjoy discounted tickets for Odeon and Odeon Luxe as part of your existing contract

  • Vodafone has added cut-price cinema tickets to its VeryMe loyalty scheme
  • It follows similar perks from Three and O2
  • It comes as the CMA is scrutinising plans for Vodafone and Three to merge

Vodafone has partnered with Odeon to offer discounted cinema tickets to all customers. The bonus is available via the VeryMe Rewards scheme, which is built into the My Vodafone app on iPhone and Android. You'll only be able to claim a single pair of cinema tickets each week.

Available across 100 cinemas nationwide, you'll be able to claim two standard Odeon tickets for £8. Or, if you fancy something a little more luxurious, the promotion also works with Oden Luxe cinemas, although that'll cost £13 for two tickets. You'll receive a code within the My Vodafone app, which can be used on the Odeon website or app to book your tickets.

The new bonus for Vodafone customers can be redeemed any day of the week — that separates it from rival schemes like Meerkat Movies, which only offers discounted cinema trips on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Vodafone kickstarted its VeryMe Rewards scheme back in November 2018. Since then, pay monthly phone and SIM-only customers have claimed over 135 million rewards. The loyalty programme offers a rotating selection of weekly offers, including prize draws, free hot drinks from your local coffee shop, and discounts for your favourite supermarket.

There's a separate reward scheme, known as Vodafone Together, which offers exclusive discount codes only available for customers who use Vodafone for both their mobile phone and broadband bills. EE offers similar perks, including exclusive discounts, for customers who buy everything from them.

And Vodafone is far from the only brand that offers perks as a way to encourage loyalty.

O2 Priority was one of the first of these schemes to capture people's imagination. Launched back in 2007, the loyalty scheme offers early access to tickets for some of the most-anticipated concerts, stand-up, and touring theatre shows in O2-branded venues nationwide.

O2 has also struck a deal with Vue to offer discounted cinema tickets to its customers, as well as a free snack from your local Greggs each week, discounts on Disney+ subscriptions, and much more.

Three has its own loyalty scheme, known as Three+, which includes two Cineworld tickets for £6 from now until December 24th. There are also free drinks from coffee shop chain Cafe Nero, discounts on Nando's, WH Smith, Uber Eats, and more to claim from the standalone Three+ app.

Vodafone and Three have confirmed plans to merge their mobile and broadband operations. The brands claim that a merger would enable them to better compete with rivals like EE, which is owned and operated by BT, and Virgin Media O2, which completed a £31 billion merger in 2021.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said it will be “carefully considering how this deal may affect competition in the UK, which could affect the options and prices available to customers”.
