Vodafone has launched an "ultra-reliable, ultra-fast" new broadband router, powered by the latest Wi-Fi 7 wireless standard. This next-generation hardware, rumoured since October last year, unlocks download speeds up to 60x faster than standard broadband and starts from £39 a month.
Dubbed Vodafone Ultra Hub 7, this router is built from 95% recycled plastic and equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 7 wireless technology for faster downloads and a more stable connection. At its peak, this router can deliver speeds of 2.2Gbps.
Statistics from Uswitch reveal the median average home internet speed in the UK was recorded at 157Mbps in 2024 — double the figure from the previous year. That means you'll enjoy 14x faster downloads from the Vodafone Ultra Hub 7.
Upgrade to the fastest Wi-Fi 7 router from Vodafone
Vodafone has launched a new premium Pro Broadband package that ships with its latest (and fastest) Wi-Fi 7 router. You'll also benefit from a back-up internet connection, powered by Vodafone's 4G network, if there's a broadband outage in your area. Until now, the fastest router offered by Vodafone shipped with Wi-Fi 6E.

To ensure that broadband subscribers are getting these speeds everywhere in their home, Vodafone will send a Super WiFi 7 Booster with its router. This is placed somewhere else in your home and boosts the wireless signal, like a relay tower for Wi-Fi.
If you're still struggling with Wi-Fi coverage – this can be an issue if you live in an older home with brick internal walls, an attic room, or a large garden — Vodafone will provide up to an extra two boosters at no extra cost to ensure you've got decent coverage throughout every room.
So, that explains why Vodafone is branding its new kit as "ultra-fast," but what about "ultra-reliable"?
That claims stems from the built-in 4G dongle at the back of the new Vodafone Ultra Hub 7. This mobile network kicks in whenever there's a problem with the broadband, so you'll stay online when it matters most. When the broadband outage is resolved, the Ultra Hub 7 will switch back to a wired connection.
With its 4G dongle, Vodafone Ultra Hub 7 can switch to a back-up mobile connection if there's an issue with the full-fibre broadband in your area — so you'll never lose connection

While you'll undoubtedly see a dip in speeds when switching from a full-fibre connection over to 4G, it does means that you'll be able to continue with essential tasks, like recording from a video doorbell, adjusting your internet-connected lights or thermostat, sending emails, or making video calls.
Vodafone's speediest broadband packages are proactively monitored by its Broadband Xperts, which fix any broadband issues in the first 90 days after installation, followed by unlimited Call Prioritisation if you call customer services.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director, Vodafone UK, commented: “Our latest home broadband launch, Pro 3, proves that customers don’t need to compromise on quality in order to cut costs. We’ve launched a package that gives customers fast connectivity through the latest WiFi technology, as well as security, parental controls, reliability and 4G back-up – all in one great value bundle.”
Vodafone previously led the market as the first UK internet supplier to launch a Wi-Fi 6E capable router with their Ultra Hub. However, it lost that lead in the middle of last year when BT-owned EE launched its newest kit.
With the latest addition to its lineup, Vodafone can now stand toe-to-toe with EE, which was the first nationwide broadband supplier to launch a Wi-Fi 7 router. EE's Smart Hub with Wi-Fi 7 promises connections up to twice as fast as Wi-Fi 6 technology, so you can experience faster speeds and a more robust connection, especially in busy households when multiple devices are connected simultaneously.
EE broadband subscribers on the fastest packages will be upgraded to the new Wi-Fi 7 router for free, while others will need to spend £10 a month to switch to the all-singing, all-dancing wireless kit.
Of course, you can buy a standalone Wi-Fi router and connect it to your existing system to unlock these newer speeds. Amazon-owned brand eero is one the market-leaders and recently announced its Wi-Fi 7 lineup.
Upgrade any broadband connection to Wi-Fi 7 speeds with eero router
Stop relying on the Wi-Fi router sent from your broadband provider, and switch to the cutting-edge new eero 7 wireless router from Amazon. With the latest wireless technologies, it supports internet speeds up to 2.5Gbps with two auto-sensing 2.5 GbE ports and wireless speeds up to 1.8 Gbps. A single eero 7 can support 120+ devices and 190 m² of coverage

With the introduction of Wi-Fi 7 technology to its lineup, Vodafone has overtaken several major UK broadband providers. Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk, and Plusnet continue to rely on older Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 routers for all customers, limiting wireless speeds even for those with newer devices.
Sky has teased the introduction of a faster router later this year.
Vodafone Pro 3 Broadband is available to purchase online or at high street stores now. Vodafone subscribers can manage their subscriptions and add new bundles by calling 191 from their mobile.
