The clock is ticking on Virgin Media's latest free gifts. New and returning customers only have until 11.59pm this evening (February 14) to place an order and claim a generous £250 discount on your monthly broadband and TV bills or brand-new 4K Smart TV from LG for free.
To make its latest promotion even more tempting, Virgin Media has temporarily waived its usual £35 set-up fee — so switching from your current provider won't cost you anything.
Unlike competitors like BT, TalkTalk, and EE, Virgin Media contracts are 18-months not two years, so you'll be able to renegotiate your package or switch to another supplier sooner.
Sadly these freebies aren't available with every package from Virgin Media. Instead, you'll need to choose from select TV and broadband bundles to unlock the free LG 43-inch Smart TV, which has an RRP of £379.99, or £250 in bill credit.
If you pick the latter, Virgin Media will automatically use the allowance to discount your monthly bills. Depending on which bundle you pick, you might not have to pay a single bill for a good few months of your new Virgin Media contract.
This is a handy option if you already own a pretty decent 4K Smart TV.
Of course, you could always pick the telly and sell it as it's worth more than the bill credit that Virgin Media is giving out to customers. Whatever freebie takes your fancy, you'll have to act fast or risk missing out entirely on the sale.
LG's 43-inch Smart TV packs an LED panel with a 4K resolution, also known as Ultra HD. It comes preloaded with apps for popular streamers, including Netflix, NOW, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, My5, and Prime Video, to name just a few
LG PRESS OFFICE
Signing up for broadband and TV from Virgin Media means you'll take delivery of its TV 360 set-top box, which competes directly with the likes of Sky Q and Sky Stream. This box has enough storage for 500 hours of telly in Standard Definition (SD) or 100 hours in High Definition (HD) and supports 4K Ultra HD picture quality and streaming apps like Disney+, Netflix, Apple TV+, and Prime Video.
You'll also find catch-up services like BBC iPlayer, ITVX and My5 preinstalled and TV 360 can record from 6 live channels simultaneously ― so it's very unlikely that you're going to miss your favourite show, no matter how many clashes there are.
Prices for the bundles included in the giveaway, which all include a Netflix subscription, start from £58 per month. This is the complete list of broadband and TV packages that are eligible for the freebies:
Bigger Movie Combo Bundle
As the name suggests, this bundle arrives with over 200 channels, including the complete Sky Cinema package and 11 dedicated kids’ channels. Everything can be watched on the included Virgin TV 360 set-top box or on your phone or tablet with the companion app. You’ll also get ultrafast fibre broadband with average download speeds of 132Mbps, and free weekend calls to UK numbers.
Bigger Sports HD Combo Bundle
If you’re looking for live sports coverage, the Bigger Sports HD Combo has you covered. It comes with all Sky Sports channels alongside over 195 other paid- and free-to-watch channels. You’ll get a slightly faster broadband connection with this bundle, boasting average download speeds of 264Mbps as well as free weekend calls to UK numbers.
Biggest Combo
Take delivery of a Virgin TV 360 set-top box with all Sky Sports and Sky Cinema channels to watch alongside over 210 other paid- and free-to-watch channels. If that isn’t enough to keep you occupied, there’s also a Netflix subscription included too. When it comes to broadband, expect a fibre connection with an average download speed of 132Mbps and free weekend calls.
Mega Volt Bundle
There’s not a lot missing from this jam-packed bundle from Virgin Media. You’ll have over 230 paid- and free-to-watch channels on the TV 360 set-top box, as well as Sky Sports and Sky Cinema in HD. You'll also enjoy an ad-free Netflix subscription too. It comes with one of the speedier broadband connections, with average download speeds topping 514Mbps and an O2 SIM card with a 10GB data allowance and unlimited calls and texts.
Following the merger between Virgin Media and O2 back in June 2021, anyone who signs up for Virgin Media will be eligible for O2 Priority. The loyalty scheme offers discounted cinema tickets, coffee and lunch deals from the biggest high street chains, as well as early access to gig tickets.
There's a 14-day cooling-off period with all of the above deals, so you'll be able to downgrade your bundle, tweak the fibre broadband speeds ...or walk away entirely if you're not satisfied.
Virgin Media has its own nationwide broadband network, which is available in over 16 million homes. It's completely separate from BT-owned Openreach, which is used by broadband suppliers like BT, EE, Sky, TalkTalk, and Plusnet to connect customers to the internet.
Virgin Media uses a different technology, which offers download speeds of over 1,100Mbps at every address on its network. In comparison, Openreach is halfway through planned upgrades to connect millions of properties to next-generation full-fibre broadband.
