These svelte new slates are packed with the latest Galaxy AI and Google Gemini features, beautiful AMOLED touchscreens, and a redesigned stylus to make handwritten notes and sign PDFs. The new Galaxy Tab S11 lineup sees Samsung return to the 11-inch form-factor that many Android tablet owners loved, while still keeping those who want a gargantuan screen happy with the expansive Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
The latter is also sure to impress anyone who wants the thinnest tablet. At just 5.1mm thick, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is probably thinner than the phone in your pocket right now.
Whatever size screen you plump for, Samsung has equipped both tablets with a crisp AMOLED display that reaches 1,600-nits peak brightness, making everything readable even in direct sunlight. The Tab S11 offers up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, while the S11 Ultra packs up to 16GB RAM and a massive 1TB of storage.
Both of these tablets are compatible with a completely redesigned S Pen, which boasts a hexagonal shape designed to mimic a traditional pencil, while the new cone-shaped tip should offer better control at different angles when sketching or taking notes, Samsung says.
Samsung has equipped its tablets with a powerful (and more efficient) 3-nanometer processor, offering faster processing, smoother multitasking, and more responsive AI.
The South Korean firm says to expect speed boosts of 33% for AI tasks, 24% for general computing, and 27% for graphics compared to previous models. All of that extra oomph will come in handy with the new Samsung DeX, which transforms your tablet experience into a desktop-like PC when connected to an external monitor.
All of your Android apps and data carry over, but you can pair the tablet with a keyboard or mouse and crunch through some serious computing. With this latest Galaxy Tab S11 series, new Extended Mode lets you connect an external monitor and use both screens simultaneously – you can drag windows between displays just like a proper desktop setup. You'll also find up to four customisable workspaces, perfect for separating your work projects from creative tasks.
Discussing the new models, Samsung Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office for the Mobile eXperience Business, Jay Kim said: "The Galaxy Tab S11 series combines AI innovation with refined hardware to deliver a true multitasking experience that reflects Samsung’s deep experience in mobile productivity. With the latest Galaxy AI and new multimodal capabilities, these flagship tablets enable ultimate efficiency – empowering users to work, create and flow more naturally across a versatile, large screen."
Out of the box, Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra run One UI 8, which is based on Android 16, so you'll unlock the latest functionality from the teams within Google and Samsung. It's packed with Artificial Intelligence (AI) features, including Gemini Live, which offers real-time access to the camera viewfinder, so you can have a conversation with Gemini about what you're looking at. For example, Gemini can translate a menu item for you, create a recipe based on the ingredients you're showing to your camera, or summarise handwritten notes.
By pressing and holding the side button, users can activate Gemini and carry out commands across apps with a single command. For instance, you could share the URL to a lengthy research paper with Gemini and say, “Summarise this article and save it to Samsung Notes,” making it easier to catch up later.
Samsung's Writing Assist features are available across the Android operating system. Highlight text and Galaxy AI will offer to proofread for spelling and grammar mistakes. It can also adjust the tone of your writing — helpful if you need to make an email or cover letter sound more formal, or want to add some fun into your text.
Despite the more powerful chipset and the expansive, bright screen, Samsung says battery life won't let you down. Inside the Tab S11, it's fitted with an 8,400mAh battery, while the Ultra boasts an enormous 11,600mAh capacity that should comfortably last a day.
Both support 45W wired charging to get you back up and running quickly.
Preorders are now available — and include a few extras to sweeten the deal. Samsung is offering a one-year subscription to the premium note-taking app GoodNotes, as well as six months of Clip Studio Paint, and a generous 66% saving on LumaFusion.
Here's the full UK pricing breakdown: The standard Tab S11 starts at £799 for 128GB Wi-Fi, rising to £999 for 512GB. Want 5G connectivity? Add £150 to any model. The Ultra begins at £1,199 for 256GB Wi-Fi, topping out at £1,549 for the 1TB version. The 5G Ultra models range from £1,349 to £1,699.
Samsung's also throwing in a £200 trade-in guarantee for any tablet or Android phone when you buy the Ultra through their website.
