Smashed screens, dead batteries, or broken cameras won't impact the valuation

Samsung will pay £200 for any broken, forgotten, or outdated Android phone gathering dust in your drawer. That £200 payout is guaranteed — it doesn't matter what brand, model, or condition the handset is in.

It's all thanks to a supercharged new trade-in offer to tempt people into testing out its newest Galaxy S25, S25+, or Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung will use the £200 trade-in to immediately cut the cost of any of these three handsets. The discount will be applied at checkout there and then, but you won't need to send the phone immediately — handy if you want to transfer your photos, apps, and settings to your shiny new Samsung Galaxy S25 when it arrives in the post.

If you missed the Galaxy S25 launch event back in January, the refreshed smartphone lineup from Samsung sports speedier processors to enable more Galaxy AI tasks on-device, a refined design with rounded corners to make them more comfortable to hold, and some fresh colourways.

Despite these improvements, the price remains the same as last year. Except, of course, if you send any Android phone in any condition to Samsung — you can immediately slash £200 off those prices.

That means you can pocket the standard Galaxy S25 starts from £599, a Galaxy S25+ from £799, and the all-singing, all-dancing Galaxy S25 Ultra from £1,049.

Granted, even with that sizeable discount, you'd be hard pushed to describe these handsets as "cheap". But this an incredible opportunity to upgrade to a flagship Android smartphone packed with the latest technologies developed by Samsung — and offload an old phone you're no longer using.

And that's not the only deal available from the Samsung Store at the moment. Order before 11.59pm on June 26, and you'll be able to claim a free Galaxy Tab A9+ tablet with your order.

That's a pretty generous gift, given that Samsung sells its Android tablet for £259.

And that's not all. If you treat yourself to one of these new handsets, Samsung will send you a free Galaxy Tab A9+ tablet worth £259

For those who don't know, Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ sports an 11-inch LCD touchscreen display with a 90Hz high refresh rate for smoother animations and fast-paced gameplay.

Samsung has also fitted dual speakers — ideal for watching your favourite TV shows and movies on the move. On the back, there's an 8MP camera on the rear case, and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calls.

Galaxy Tab A9+ sports a 7,040mAh battery for all-day usage. There's only 64GB of built-in storage, but that can be expanded up to 1TB via microSD card. Wi-Fi 5 is built-in for reliable streaming. Out of the box, it runs Samsung's popular One UI software based on Android 13 with features like Samsung Knox to secure your personal information and Quick Share to wirelessly beam files between devices.

At launch, across the board, reviewers applaud the Galaxy Tab A9+ as a standout budget performer. NotebookCheck awarded it an 84% score— branding it "a fast and far-better-quipped successor to the much-loved Galaxy Tab A8," thanks to its 90 Hz display and speedier octa-core processor. Tech Advisor praised its “understated but refined design” and silky-smooth media playback.

Android Police summed called it “pretty good,” highlighting solid build quality and useful software extras like Samsung DeX and conceding that few tablets match the Galaxy A9+ for sheer bang-for-buck.

And now, Samsung is offering to send one of these well-reviewed 11-inch Android tablets to you at no cost.

While the Samsung-built table is available in Graphite, Silver and Navy when bought in-store... Samsung is only sending out the Graphite colourway for free. You'll need to be aged 18 or over to submit a claim on the separate Samsung website, found here.

Samsung hasn't capped the trade-in discount at £200 — that's just the amout you can claim for a broken, outdated Android phone. Depending on the make, model, and condition of the phone you're looking to send to Samsung, you could earn up to £540 off the Galaxy S25 or larger Galaxy S25+.

And if you're considering upgrading to a Galaxy S25 Ultra, that maximum trade-in discount rockets to £431.

How does trade-in work?

First up, you'll need to choose exactly which of the new Samsung smartphones is calling to you. If you're unsure, we've got some details on exactly what separates the three handsets in the Galaxy S lineup below.

Next up, you'll need to confirm the manufacturer, model number, and condition of the handset that you're looking to trade-in. Once that's done, you'll be presented with an estimated trade-in value.

With the current deal, you can guarantee £200 discount on your purchase when you pledge to send any Android phone in any condition. But if you've got a more valuable handset in working order, you could see that discount increase from £200 up as high as £431. It depends on the make, model, and condition.

Once your valuation is locked-in, and you've purchased your new phone with the discount applied, Samsung will send out a self-addressed package to mail your trade-in device.

Don't be worried if the phone you're looking to trade-in has a broken screen, Samsung will still offer a discount at checkout for the latest Galaxy S devices

While the design of the new Galaxy S25 lineup isn't a huge departure from recent Galaxy S handsets, these new devices are thinner and lighter than previous generations. Samsung has shaved-off between 6g - 15g, depending on the model you choose. The biggest weight loss is reserved for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Under the bonnet of all three new smartphones is the first-of-its-kind customised Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy system-on-a-chip, which is specifically designed to power the phones' extensive AI features. The silicon was designed by teams from Samsung and US manufacturer Qualcomm.

It's the speediest chip to ever ship inside a Samsung smartphone, delivering 40% faster performance from the Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which predominantly handles on-device AI tasks, as well as a 37% increase in CPU and a 30% improvement in GPU compared to the Galaxy S24 series.

This beefier chipset allows Samsung to crunch more AI tasks on-device. Some Galaxy AI features that previously had to be beamed to servers, like Generative Edit, now take place on the silicon inside the phone. Since you're not reliant on a decent Wi-Fi or mobile data connection, you'll be able to use these AI tricks on aeroplane mode.
