The latest smartphones will be available on store shelves from January 31

The latest flagship smartphones from Samsung will hit store shelves across the UK this week, starting on January 31.

Ahead of the launch, there are some superb preorder deals available, with twice the built-in storage and an annual Disney+ subscription bundled at no extra cost. These savings are available on all three models in the Galaxy S24 range — Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the top-of-the-line Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Amazon has calculated the savings across the various storage configurations, with the minimum discount standing at 7%, rising to 16% for the biggest price cut. With this offer, you’ll enjoy a minimum of 256GB of built-in storage (for the same price as the entry-level 128GB model).

If you’re shopping for the maxed-out model, you’ll enjoy 1TB of storage on the Galaxy S24 Ultra for the same price as you’d usually pay for 512GB.

Although Amazon is advertising the promotion differently from most other retailers (by showing the free upgrade as a percentage discount to the original price for the higher storage model) it's worth noting that the same Galaxy S24 deal is available from anywhere that offers preorders.

Samsung has baked a number of clever AI features into its new handset, including the ability to translate text messages and phonecalls in real-time without leaving the preinstalled messaging apps on your phone

There are advantages to shopping at any one of these stores.

For example, if you’re paying for a Prime member, shopping for the Galaxy S24 series on Amazon means you’ll enjoy next-day delivery at no extra cost. Meanwhile, John Lewis includes an extra year of hardware warranty — so you’ll have two years of coverage.

If you live close to a branch of Currys, you might be able to pick up your new handset on the same day. Likewise, if you’re a paid Five Star Member at AO.com, you can benefit from exclusive discounts and a 100-day returns window on your new smartphone.

But honestly, all these perks struggle to compete with the deals from the Samsung store.

That’s because Samsung has supercharged its trade-in offers up to £370 off the Galaxy S24 or Galaxy S24+ when you part with your current phone. If you’ve got your eyes on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, then Samsung will slash prices by as much as £460.

Even if you don't have a phone to send off to Samsung, you can enjoy a £50 or £100 discount at checkout with the code S24SAVE. You'll still get a higher storage configuration at no extra cost, just like the preorder offer on Amazon.

When it comes to trade-in, the exact discount available at checkout will depend on the make and model of the phone you've got in your pocket. A newer handset will unlock a more generous discount.

For example, you’ll get £230 off the cost of your new Galaxy S24 handset when you trade in any model from the iPhone 13 line-up. That increases to £300 for the iPhone 14.

Unsurprisingly, Samsung’s foldable Galaxy Z smartphones are the most valuable to trade in, earning you a discount of £440 for the Galaxy Z Flip5 and a whopping £590 for the Galaxy Z Fold5. If you own an older Galaxy Z Flip3, you’ll get £170 off the Galaxy S24 series, while a Galaxy S22 will net you £240.

You won’t need to pay for postage, with Samsung popping a Freepost envelope in the post to you as soon as you’ve completed the online form — and received a discount on your Galaxy S24 purchase.

Once the envelope arrives, you’ll have a week to mail your current handset to Samsung, so you should have plenty of time to back up your data and switch your SIM over to the new Galaxy S24.

Not sure you want to part ways with your phone? As mentioned above, Samsung has shared a code that gives you £50 off a Galaxy S24 or £100 off a Galaxy S24+ or Galaxy S24 Ultra. Use S24SAVE at checkout to unlock the discount without a trade-in.

If you want to see how these discounts compare to the latest pay monthly deals, we've rounded up the best Galaxy S24 deals and best Galaxy S24 Ultra deals in in-depth guides. A number of these offers will come to an end when the latest Samsung smartphones are released in the UK on January 31, 2024.
