Figure skating stars Olivia Smart and Jean-Luc Baker have announced their engagement following a romantic Valentine's Day proposal in Milan, Italy.
The pair, who spent years as rivals on the ice, are now set to unite off the rink after Baker popped the question on Saturday.
Spanish skater Smart and the former Team USA Olympic ice dancer revealed the happy news to fans via Instagram, where well-wishers quickly flooded the comments with congratulations.
After competing against one another throughout their careers, the couple will now begin a new chapter together as they prepare for married life.
The proposal unfolded on the streets of the Italian city, with Baker dropping to one knee while Smart stood beneath an umbrella, momentarily lost for words before exclaiming "yes" and embracing her new fiancé with a kiss.
Baker documented the lead-up to the special moment in a video montage posted to Instagram, which he titled "It's always been you".

The footage revealed he had been carrying the engagement ring with him in the stands whilst Smart performed in competition just days earlier.
The couple also shared photographs capturing the emotional scene, offering fans a glimpse of the romantic milestone.

Although Smart did not secure a medal in the ice dance event last week, finishing in ninth position alongside her skating partner Tim Dieck, she will depart Italy with something far more precious – an engagement ring.
Baker, who previously represented the United States as an Olympic ice dancer, achieved what he might consider his greatest victory yet when Smart accepted his proposal.
Despite not reaching the podium in competition, Smart's time in Milan proved unforgettable for entirely different reasons, as she traded the disappointment of her ninth-place result for the joy of becoming engaged to her former rival.
Fans were quick to share their delight at the announcement, with one follower commenting: "That was so precious. Congratulations."
