Why Community Shield was renamed from Charity Shield ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City clash

The two teams will lock horns at Wembley on Sunday
Arsenal and Manchester City will meet in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday in the traditional curtain-raiser for the new season.
But some fans still call the competition the 'charity shield' and there's a reason why the name was changed.
Back in 2002, the Charity Commission found that the Football Association had failed to meet its legal obligations under charity law.
The FA were accused of failing to specify how much money from ticket sales actually went to charity.

And they were also called out for delaying payments to the nominated charities as well.
As a result of the findings, the competition was renamed the Community Shield.
Following the name change 21 years ago, FA spokeperson Adrian Bevington said: "We want to ensure that good causes continue to receive financial support from football through the FA Community Shield.
"Additionally, we want to see individuals who are some of the game's real heroes receive recognition for their great work."
Arsenal have won the trophy 16 times over the years.
They last triumphed back in 2020, beating Liverpool on penalties at Wembley after goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Takumi Minamino.
As for Manchester City, they have competed in the competition four times in the past five years.
They won matches in 2018 and 2019, beating Chelsea and Liverpool respectively to add to their growing trophy haul.
Over the past two years, however, they've slumped to defeats.
Leicester beat Manchester City 1-0 in 2021, with Kelechi Iheanacho netting a late penalty.
And Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners in the Community Shield last year.
Trent Alexander-Arnold put the Reds ahead in the 21th minute before Julian Alvarez levelled.
However, late goals from Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez ensured Jurgen Klopp's side begin the season with a trophy to their name.
When it comes to teams who have won the Community Sheild the most times, Manchester United top the list.
The Red Devils have won 21 of their 30 appearances in the competition.
They have only appeared in the tournament twice over the past decade, however.
United beat Wigan 2-0 to claim the prize in 2013 courtesy of a double from Robin van Persie in David Moyes' first competitive match in charge.
And they overcame Leicester 2-1 three years later courtesy of goals from Jesse Lingard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Arsenal have appeared 16 times, with City featuring on six separate occasions.
And who ultimately wins on Sunday remains to be seen.
