A stretcher was brought out during a lengthy stoppage

Tom Lockyer was attended to by paramedics after collapsing during Luton's Premier League game with Bournemouth.

A stretcher was brought out during a lengthy stoppage which saw players from both sides sent back to the changing rooms.

The defender, who captains Luton, was applauded by all four sides of the ground as he was stretchered off.

Lockyer collapsed during the club’s play-off final win against Coventry in May before being taken to hospital.

Reports from the ground suggest Lockyer was “alert and responsive” in the tunnel.

The match was stopped in the 62nd minute with Lockyer collapsing off the ball.

An update from the Luton X account, formerly known as Twitter, read: “There’s a break in play as Tom Lockyer seeks medical attention.

“We’re all with you, Locks.”
