The Pole won Wimbledon on Saturday with a thumping victory over Amanda Anisimova

Iga Swiatek's physiotherapist has hit back at Coco Gauff's ex-coach, Brad Gilbert, for 'ugly' comments about the Pole's Wimbledon win.

Swiatek secured victory on Centre Court by demolishing Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 on Saturday in one of the most one-sided finals in history.

After the clash, Gilbert took to social media to react.

He said: "Crazy. Iga Pop tourney stat, the highest ranked player she has played this @Wimbledon Samsonova at 19 AA is ranked 12, not sure when last time someone won a slam without facing a top 10 player."

However, Swiatek's physiotherapist Maciej Ryszczuk was unimpressed with those comments and immediately hit back on X.

"It's so low that even you can feel the bottom. Do your research better. Winning ugly doesn't mean commenting ugly," he said.

Swiatek hadn't won a tournament in 13 months prior to Saturday's match.

She was outstanding on the day, though, with her American opponent left reeling as she crashed to defeat.

Swiatek said afterwards: "It seems super surreal.

“I want to congratulate Amanda for an amazing two weeks. No matter what happened, you should be proud of the work you are doing.

“I hope we are going to play many more finals and in other tournaments. You have the game for that.

“For me, this was way too far to dream about. I feel like I’m already an experienced player after winning the Slams before. But I never expected this one. My team believed in me more than I did.

“I want to thank my coach who joined this year. We have had ups and downs but we showed everybody that it is working. This tournament is unique. And I was anxious of that.

“Walking around here, being on Centre Court felt like a huge pressure. This year I really enjoyed it and improved my game.

“I will always remember the opening of champagne bottles in between serves – a sound that will keep me up at night. I will enjoy these moments.”

Anisimova, meanwhile, admitted she 'ran out of gas'.
