The player has been banned from playing in any national tennis association

Thai tennis player Jatuporn Na Lamphun has received a permanent ban from professional tennis along with a financial penalty of £84,000 following corruption charges.

The International Tennis Integrity Agency imposed these sanctions after the 31-year-old failed to respond to allegations of attempting to fix the outcome of 22 tennis matches.

The offences occurred between 2023 and 2024, marking a serious breach of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program.

The unranked player had been under provisional suspension since December 2024 before the lifetime prohibition took effect on August 20, 2025.

The charges against Na Lamphun encompassed three distinct violations of tennis integrity rules.

He was accused of "facilitating, or attempting to facilitate, the fixing of 22 matches across 2023 and 2024, providing or offering money in 18 of those matches, and failure to co-operate with an ITIA investigation".

His decision not to respond to the formal notice of charges resulted in automatic sanctions being applied.

The player chose not to challenge these penalties through an appeal to an independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer.

This marks the second time Na Lamphun has faced sanctions for breaching anti-corruption regulations.

In 2016, when he was 22 years old, he received an 18-month ban for violations committed between July and November 2014.

During that case, he acknowledged three infractions related to wagering on tennis matches.

However, he disputed a fourth allegation concerning his refusal to assist the Tennis Integrity Unit's inquiry, though he was ultimately convicted on this charge as well.

The hearing officer at the time, Ian Mill QC, emphasised that "full and timely co-operation by participants in TIU investigations is of paramount importance in the efforts being made by the TIU to eliminate corruption in professional tennis."

LATEST SPORTS NEWS:

The permanent exclusion prevents Na Lamphun from participating in any capacity within professional tennis.

He cannot compete in, provide coaching at, or even attend tournaments sanctioned by major tennis organisations including the ATP, WTA, ITF, Tennis Australia, the French Tennis Federation, Wimbledon, the USTA, or any national tennis association.

The ITIA, an independent organisation created by tennis governing bodies to protect the sport's integrity, confirmed these comprehensive restrictions.

The lifetime prohibition represents one of the most severe penalties available under tennis anti-corruption regulations, effectively ending any possibility of Na Lamphun's involvement in professional tennis at any level.
