Emma Raducanu opened on her upturn in form this campaign after she delivered a commanding performance at the US Open against Indonesian qualifier Janice Tjen 6-2, 6-1.
The British No1's ruthless display, precisely 60 minutes, marked her fastest-ever Grand Slam victory, surpassing her previous record by two minutes.
The 22-year-old dominated from the outset, beginning with an ace and maintaining relentless pressure throughout.
Tjen, who had shocked 24th seed Veronika Kudermetova in the opening round, found herself unable to cope with Raducanu's precision and power.

This emphatic result represents Raducanu's 26th victory of 2025, establishing another new personal best for wins in a single season.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Raducanu expressed satisfaction with her performance: "I'm very pleased with how I played today. I had to wait two days to play this second round match so that kind of breaks the rhythm a little bit.

"I knew I was playing Janice, who is a super dangerous opponent and she was playing extremely well coming into this. I knew she would easily put away any ball I put mid-court that wasn't necessarily good enough."
Reflecting on her career-best season, Raducanu attributed her success to enhanced consistency, which she feels is the biggest reason behind her record-breaking 26th season win.

"First of all, I think the consistency of doing good practice days every day has helped to build on that," The British No1 explained.
"I started to do that after the Miami Open and I was putting in some really good work, but I've also stepped up what I'm doing on and off the court in recent weeks."
She credited her support team, stating she was "really grateful" for their presence and adding: "I'm putting a lot of trust in the work I'm doing behind the scenes so that's taking some of the pressure off."

Former Wimbledon champion, Marion Bartoli, praised Raducanu's performance on Sky Sports: "It's very difficult not to give her a 10 out of 10 for this performance.
"She was just incredible, from the very first game. She did not give her opponent anything to work with.
"She was just sublime on her serve, and to be able to take someone like Tjen out of the court in one hour, to reach the third round of the US Open, that's why we're getting so excited.
Raducanu now awaits the winner of the match between ninth seed Elena Rybakina, the former Wimbledon champion, and Czech qualifier Tereza Valentova.
The British player appears well-equipped and confident ahead of either challenge based on her current form.
