Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz relationship rumours explode: 'People think there's something going on'

According to insiders, speaking to The Sun, Raducanu attended Alcaraz's games on Thursday and Saturday, the day before his tournament victory against Jiri Lehecka.

Sources claimed their apparent chemistry became "the talk of Queens" amongst attendees.

"Emma and Carlos' friendship was the talk of Queens - people think there is something going on between them because they have such a spark," the source told the newspaper.

The pair's interactions reportedly caught the attention of tournament staff and broadcasters alike.

Observers noted that the pair arrived at Queens within minutes of each other on both occasions Raducanu came to watch Alcaraz play.

"He was apparently seen at her hotel last week and on Thursday and Saturday, when Emma went to support him, Emma's car arrived just minutes after Carlos got to Queens with his team," the source added.

"Inside they were seen laughing and joking with one another. They seem very happy and relaxed with each other."

The gossip extended beyond tennis circles.

"People who worked for the BBC and other broadcasters were all gossiping about it," a second source claimed.

The duo are set to partner in the mixed doubles at the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship in August. It now seems their on-court partnership could evolve into something more personal.

"The only love being talked about was about Emma and Carlos," the second source stated, emphasising the widespread nature of the speculation.

Both players have previously spoken candidly about their single status. Alcaraz, who is now favourite to win Wimbledon when it begins on June 30, discussed his romantic challenges last year.

"I am single. I am looking for someone," he said.

"It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time."

Raducanu, currently ranked 38th in the world, has also acknowledged difficulties in maintaining relationships. She revealed that her parents had strict rules about dating during her rise through the rankings.

"My parents were very much against [boyfriends] as it interfered with training," she explained. "When I was younger, I wasn't even allowed to hang out with my girl friends."

The British star admitted the restrictions had lasting effects.

"A lot of the time I was very resentful, but it made me very confident and comfortable in my own company," she said.

Whether the pair's upcoming doubles partnership will lead to romance remains to be seen, but their Queens interactions have certainly captured public attention.
