President Donald Trump will make his return to the US Open tennis championship on Sunday, attending the men's singles final for the first time in a decade.
The White House has confirmed the president's plans to travel to Queens for the match, which is scheduled to begin at 2pm.
Trump's last appearance at the Grand Slam tournament came in 2015, when he faced audible disapproval from spectators during a quarterfinals match.
That visit occurred several months after he had announced his initial presidential campaign, marking a turning point in his relationship with the New York sporting event.

The 79-year-old president, a Queens native, had been a regular fixture at Flushing Meadows for decades during his career as a property developer and television personality.
His 2015 visit saw him accompanied by his wife Melania, with the couple watching from a hospitality suite where he was welcomed by American tennis legend John McEnroe.

The Trump Organisation previously maintained a suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium, positioned next to the television broadcast facilities, though this arrangement was discontinued in 2017 during his first presidential term.
His forthcoming appearance represents a notable departure from recent years, during which he has primarily resided at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida rather than New York.
Sport has become a central feature of Trump's second-term presidential itinerary, with multiple high-profile events scheduled across New York in the coming weeks.

Trump has also confirmed his presence at the opening day of the Ryder Cup on 26 September in New York.
