Carlos Alcaraz has said that he is living "the dream" after his Centre Court semi-final victory over Taylor Fritz.
Playing in sweltering conditions on Friday afternoon, Alcaraz showed the composure and skill needed to secure his place in the SW19 final on Sunday. The 22-year-old's triumph sets up a Sunday showdown with either Novak Djokovic or Jannik Sinner, who face each other in the second semi-final.
The Spainard is now on a 24-match winning streak as he gets set to defend his title on Centre Court.
The victory continues Alcaraz's extraordinary run at the All England Club as he pursues a hat-trick of Wimbledon titles.

Speaking after his victory, Alcaraz acknowledged the challenging nature of the encounter. "It was a really difficult match as always when I have to play against Taylor. Even tougher with the conditions, it was really hot today," he said.
The world No2 expressed satisfaction with his performance under pressure. "I'm just really happy with everything that I've done today. I dealt with the nerves - playing here in a semi-final is not easy," Alcaraz told the Centre Court crowd.

He added: "I'm really proud with the way I stayed calm and thought clearly. I'm pleased about my level today."
Despite his impressive 24-match winning streak, Alcaraz revealed he maintains focus on the experience rather than statistics. "I'm not thinking about the winning streak or the results at all. This is my dream - stepping on these beautiful courts and playing tennis in the most beautiful tournaments in the world," he explained.

The defending champion emphasised his approach to competition remains unchanged. "That's all I try to think at every tournament and why I try to bring the joy to the courts," Alcaraz said.
His philosophy appears to be serving him well as he continues his remarkable run at the All England Club.

When asked about the possibility of completing a Wimbledon hat-trick, Alcaraz remained focused on the present. "Right now I don't want to think about Sunday. I just want to enjoy this moment and that I've got to a third final in a row. I will have to time think about Sunday, I'm going to watch the other semi-final as well and let's see," he said.

The Spaniard expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming Djokovic-Sinner clash. "This is one of the most exciting matches we have on tour right now. As a huge fan of tennis, I'll try to watch as much as I can," Alcaraz remarked.
Many fans will be hoping for a repeat of the epic Rolland Garros five hour match between Alcaraz and Sinner.
