The 22-year-old won the sixth major of his career on Sunday

Carlos Alcaraz amused US Open fans at the Arthur Ashe Stadium with a joke about Jannik Sinner following his triumph in New York on Sunday night.

The 22-year-old won 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to claim the sixth Grand Slam title of his career, while also getting revenge on his rival following his defeat at Wimbledon earlier this summer.

Alcaraz and Sinner have now met in the last three Grand Slam finals.

Their rivalry is evolving with each passing major, with the duo looking set to dominate the biggest tournaments for many years to come.

And Alcaraz amused fans inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium by joking that he sees more of Sinner than he does his own family.

The tennis star, who will become the new world No 1 on Monday, said: "It's unbelievable what Jannik has done throughout the whole season, a great level in every tournament.

"I see you more than my family!

"It's great to share the court, locker room and everything with you, watching you improve.
