The BBC has confused tennis fans after posting a result for a match that hasn’t happened yet.
The broadcaster’s X feed posted on Tuesday that Iga Swiatek had beaten Caty McNally, despite the match being scheduled for Wednesday.
The post claimed the Polish star had beaten McNally 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, despite her not playing on the day.
Swaitek had beaten Polina Kudermetova on Monday in a 7-5, 6-1 win as she looks to win the prestigious prize.
The post claimed Iga Swiatek had beaten her second round opponent already

Fans were quick to catch the BBC out on their blunder.
One fan joked: “Maybe the BBC knows about the future or something.”
Another fan jibed: “Proof that tennis is scripted.”

The unusual post, which was only deleted on Wednesday night, has sparked concern that the BBC is using AI to send out match reports.
A spokeswoman for the BBC has strongly denied this claim, however, insisting that isn't the case.
“We do not use AI to publish match results," the spokeswoman said.

Swaitek has already had an interesting tournament so far, as she revealed that she has stolen towels from every Grand Slam she attends.
LATEST SPORTS NEWS:
She joked after her match, “Come on. It's a topic no one ever talks about. We love our towels.
"Every time I come back from a Slam I think I have like 10 friends and 10 family members wanting towels. So, sorry guys. Sorry Wimbledon. I don’t know if I’m supposed to do that!"
She then added: "I have a lot at home.
"Trust me. I don’t need many more. If I’m going play like 15 more years on tour I can’t even imagine. I think I’m going to have to build another room in my house just for Grand Slam towels."
Iga Swiatek cheekily admitted she takes towels from every Grand Slam she is in

She has never been beyond the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, however, she will be hoping to change that when she actually plays McNally on Thursday.
McNally made it to the second round after taking a commanding victory against British hopeful Jodie Burrage.
