Snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan has revealed a new career venture as the 49-year-old continues to expand his business ventures.

The Rocket has broken new ground in British sport by establishing a fortnightly newsletter that will create a direct line of communication with his supporters.

The seven-time world champion's publication, titled 'The Break', represents an uncommon approach for prominent UK athletes to engage with their fanbase.

Speaking about his motivations, O'Sullivan explained: "I think The Break gives me the chance to do something I've wanted to do for a long time speak to my fans directly.

"They can send me questions, I'll answer the best ones every couple of weeks, and we can have a good bit of interaction. And I'll be showing what goes on at the big tournaments, real behind-the-scenes stuff that I don't think happens on social media," he revealed.

The Rocket had earlier posted on social media: "The Break is coming. No cameras. No edits. Just me talking straight. Snooker, rivalries, regrets, life, mindset. Nothing off limits. But first I want to hear from you."

The newsletter represents O'Sullivan's latest entrepreneurial endeavour alongside his continuing competitive career. The snooker icon has expanded his business interests to include a Hong Kong snooker club and an academy carrying his name in Saudi Arabia, whilst maintaining his well-documented enthusiasm for running.

Supporters have already begun submitting questions through social media channels in anticipation of the newsletter's launch.

The initiative arrives as O'Sullivan returned to competitive play at the Shanghai Masters following a nearly three-month absence after his World Championship semi-final defeat to Zhao Xintong in May.
