Emergency medical personnel responded immediately after Yorke's fall at the third obstacle, but despite their efforts, they were unable to save her life.

The accomplished rider had recently celebrated victory in July, securing first place in the BE90 category at Swalcliffe Park equestrian centre near Banbury, Oxfordshire, with her seven-year-old horse.
