Travis Kelce lost his cool with Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on the sidelines.

Travis Kelce has been slammed on social media after he was filmed shoving Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid on the sidelines during the Super Bowl.

It was a slow start to Super Bowl LVIII with neither team finding a score in the first quarter.

Frustrations were beginning to boil over in the second quarter for the Chiefs as the San Francisco 49ers were the first team to get on the board.

Kelce then blew up after Isiah Pacheco's fumble and took out his anger at Reid in an explosive row.

Taylor Swift's boyfriend looked enraged as he shoved Reid, who appeared startled by the altercation.

Kelce's actions didn't go down well on social media with many feeling he overstepped the mark.

One person moaned: "Travis Kelce is the biggest piece of s*** in the NFL. Change my mind."

Another wrote: "Travis Kelce is way out of line. That is embarrassing."

A third posted: "Travis Kelce thinks he can do whatever he wants. That assault on Reid was a disgrace."

Another said: "Travis Kelce is a bum. My lord."

One other viewer tweeted: "Should be ejected. No place for this in the NFL."

Kansas City running back Jerick McKinnon was forced to step in and pull Kelce away from Reid to stop the situation from escalating further.

Kelce's singer girlfriend Swift was in the stands watching on after travelling from Japan after her concert in Tokyo on Saturday night.

Swift's relationship with Kelce has led to a new audience tuning into the NFL this season.

Her first appearance at a Chiefs game back in September led to a 400 per cent rise in Kelce's No 87 jersey.

Viewing figures have also gone through the roof for games where Swift has been in the stands.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is thankful for the impact Swift has had on the sport this year.

"Having the Taylor Swift effect creates a buzz. It creates another group of young fans, particularly young women that are interested in seeing her," he said.

"Taylor is obviously a dynamo. Everything she touches, there are people following, and so we count ourselves fortunate and we welcome it."
