Patrick Mahomes' mother, Randi, believes Taylor Swift has helped make the NFL a ‘family affair’ ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ showdown with the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.
The Chiefs are gunning for their third Super Bowl title in four years this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers.
While the action on the pitch is set to take centre stage when the first whistle goes, there will also be eyes drawn to the stands to see whether Swift is in attendance to cheer on her Chiefs boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Their relationship has seen a huge rise in popularity in the sport with a whole new audience tuning into watch NFL matches featuring the Chiefs.

The 34-year-old singer has appeared at 12 games to cheer on her husband and the Chiefs' game against the Baltimore Ravens had a record 55 million TV viewers in America.
It's hardly surprising that Swift's appearances have garnered even more attention for America's most popular sport.
She boasts the 15th-most followers on Instagram with over 280million 'Swifties' dwarfing the 29.4m that follow the NFL's account.
There have been a small number of critics for the amount of camera appearances Swift receives during NFL games.
However, Mahomes' mother feels the singer's attendance at NFL games has only boosted the sport's popularity for young women.
"It's making it a family event again," she told Fox News.
"Not only are dads watching the games with their buddies, but now, their little girls are watching it with them.
"It makes it a family affair, bringing their families together.

"I hear all the negative stuff, but I'm like, I see these little girls at the game cheering just because Taylor Swift is there. They're there doing a family moment when they wouldn't normally."
Chiefs owner Clark Hunt is also thankful for Swift's impact on his team and has enjoyed watching her relationship with Kelce blossom.
"We have a lot of Swifties in our household who are fans of her," he said.

"We're so happy for the two of them.
"And as a result, we do have a whole bunch of new fans, and that's been fantastic.
