Taylor Swift fans convinced themselves the pop star was pregnant after spotting what appeared to be a baby bump during her New York outing with Selena Gomez at the weekend.
The 35-year-old singer stepped out in Manhattan wearing a black minidress, but an optical illusion created by a black car in the background made it appear she was sporting a pregnant belly.
"She's eight months pregnant," wrote one fan on X, whilst another posted: "Taylor appears pregnant in New York!"
However, closer inspection revealed Swift's dress had simply blended with the vehicle behind her, creating the visual trickery that sent the rumour mill into overdrive.

Travis Kelce has finally addressed the pregnancy speculation during the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, where he was seen dancing to Swift's hit single "I Knew You Were Trouble" alongside guest Shaquille O'Neal.
"That's my favourite song in the world, brother, I love it," O'Neal said, prompting applause from the Kelce brothers.
The NFL player praised his girlfriend, saying: "Shout out to Tay Tay. Just got that song back, too. Just bought all her music back so it's finally hers, man, I appreciate that, dog. Love you, big Diesel."

Swift recently purchased her original masters from Shamrock Capital for a reported sum of around £265million.
The couple, who have been together since summer 2023, have been at the centre of marriage and family speculation, with former athletes weighing in on their future.
"That would be a great kid," Julian Edelman, 38, said on the "Dudes on Dudes" podcast about the possibility of the pair having their first child.

Rob Gronkowski, 35, added: "The kid would be performing having eight catches a game and then doing the halftime show."
This isn't the first time pregnancy rumours have swirled, with speculation arising in April when Travis's mother Donna Kelce shared a Facebook post about her new granddaughter.
The rumours come as Swift's decade-long friendship with Blake Lively appears to have ended, with the actress's attempts at reconciliation going unanswered.

An insider exclusively revealed to the Daily Mail that the 37-year-old's "texts, calls and emails to the singer are going unanswered."
Swift is said to have "iced out" Lively after feeling "betrayed" and "exploited" by her former best friend.
"She's been reaching out to her with texts, voicemails and even emails begging to mend what they once had. Blake isn't giving up on trying to get her friendship with Taylor back on track," the source said.
"Taylor hasn't responded to any of Blake's pleas. She's ignored all her grovelling excuses."
