Jordan Spieth has been disqualified from the Genesis Invitational after signing an incorrect scorecard.
The former world No 1 has taken full responsibility for the mistake after Tiger Woods withdrew from the same tournament due to illness.
Spieth had a strong start to the competition at the Riviera Country Club, shooting an opening round 66 to be just two behind leader Patrick Cantlay.
His first nine went well on Friday but he then dropped three shots, including a double bogey on the 18th, to go round in 73.

Spieth was 10 shots off the lead when he was informed that he had been disqualified from the tournament.
It emerged that he had signed for a three on the par-three fourth hole but when he had actually made a four.
A statement from the PGA Tour read: "Jordan Spieth was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard at The Genesis Invitational at The Riviera Country Club on Friday.
"Spieth signed for a 3 at the par-3 fourth hole and a second-round 72, when in fact he made 4 on the hole and shot 73."
Spieth admitted he was in the wrong on social media and is regretful to not be playing this weekend.
He wrote on X: "Today, I signed for an incorrect scorecard and stepped out of the scoring area, after thinking I went through all procedures to make sure it was correct.
"Rules are rules, and I take full responsibility.
"I love this tournament and golf course as much as any on @PGATOUR so it hurts to not have a run at the weekend. Really appreciated the support in LA @thegenesisinv."
USA star Cantlay has stormed into a five-shot lead in Los Angeles, ahead of Luke List, Jason Day and Mackenzie Hughes who are all on -8.
Spieth is not the only big-name player who will not be competing in the final two rounds this weekend.
Fifteen-time major champion Woods has pulled out of the tournament due to illness.
The 48-year-old played the first six holes of his round on Friday but was unable to continue after striking his tee shot on the seventh.

Woods was playing his first tournament of 2024 but was in visible discomfort.
He was driven back off course from the seventh hole and momentarily had his head in his hands.
His long-term business partner Rob McNamara has confirmed Woods is feeling better after being put on an IV drip.
McNamara said: "So he started feeling some flu-like symptoms last night. Woke up this morning, they were worse than the night previous.

"He had a little bit of a fever and that was better during the warm-up but then when he got out there, and was walking and playing, he started feeling dizzy.
"Ultimately the doctors are saying he's got some - potentially some type of flu and that he was dehydrated.
"He's been treated with an IV bag and he's doing much, much better.
"Not physical at all, his back's fine. It was all medical illness, dehydration, which is now the symptoms are reversing themselves now that he's had an IV."
