Olympic 100m medallist Fred Kerley has been arrested in Miami for allegedly punching his former girlfriend and fellow athlete Alaysha Johnson in the face.
The incident reportedly took place at a hotel in Dania Beach on Thursday.
The 29-year-old American sprinter was detained by police in Broward County, Florida, ahead of his scheduled appearance at the Grand Slam Track meeting in Miami.
Johnson, 28, an Olympic hurdler, was also due to compete at the event, which began on Friday.

The alleged altercation occurred before the second meeting of Michael Johnson's new circuit.
Reuters and the BBC's US partner CBS reported Kerley had been charged with one count of "battery-touch or strike" according to the arrest report from the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
Arrest records showed Kerley remained in jail as of early Friday.
He later appeared in court on Friday and posted a $1,000 bond before leaving jail.
The former world 100m champion, who won gold at the 2022 World Championships, was detained on Thursday.
The matter is under active investigation, with Grand Slam Track officials directing all inquiries to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
Grand Slam Track confirmed in a statement on Friday: "Fred Kerley was arrested last night. The matter is under active investigation."
The statement continued: "Fred will not compete this weekend. We have no further comment at this time."
Kerley was scheduled to compete in the 100m on Saturday and 200m on Sunday in Miami.
This would have been his second appearance in the new track circuit after racing in the inaugural Grand Slam Track meet in Kingston, Jamaica last month.

Richard Cooper, Kerley's attorney, released a statement saying: "We are confident that this case will be summarily dismissed shortly."
Kerley has enjoyed significant success on the track in recent years.
The former world champion won 100m bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
This achievement followed his silver medal performance at Tokyo 2020.
