Harry Kane has become England's all-time leading goalscorer with his 54th goal for the nation.

The Tottenham striker secured the mantle from the penalty spot to put England 2-0 up against Italy.


Kane quickly put his penalty demons to bed against Italy, having missed from the spot in his last outing for the country which saw the Three Lions eliminated from the 2022 World Cup.

The Tottenham forward has been prolific at club and country level throughout his career, being the record scorer for both.

The striker has pulled off remarkable feats before for his country, with achievements such as the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup.

Kane recently also become Tottenham's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Jimmy Greaves' long-standing record.

England manager Gareth Southgate had pre-empted the achievement, saying Kane will have had "extra motivation" going into the clash against Italy.
