Tiger Woods regularly attracts the biggest crowds at Augusta - even during practice rounds.

Tiger Woods gave one lucky Masters fan a souvenir he will never forget after making a cheeky request on the green of the ninth hole during Tuesday's practice round.

Thousands of patrons pack into Augusta National during Masters week with Woods arguably being the biggest draw of the lot.

Even the practice rounds will see the fairways and greens packed when Woods is on the course.

Hundreds of patrons caught the end of Woods' practice round on Tuesday on the ninth hole with spectators taking in the moment.

But one fan spotted an opportunity to try and get Woods' attention and it worked better than he would have expected.

Matt Agonis was in the packed crowd when he shouted 'Tiger, I'm open' in an attempt to get the American sports icon to throw his ball.

Incredibly, Woods did just that and even managed to pick out Agonis with pinpoint accuracy.

"We were just there sitting and it happened to be quiet and then I was looking at him and I'm like, 'hey, why not?'," Agonis said on Channel 2 Action News.

"I yelled at him and he kind of smirked at me and turned and that's when I knew it.

"I was like 'oh gosh, he's gonna do it'.

"He missiled it right to me. There was everyone around me so I don't know but I just jumped up.

"It hit my hand first and I didn't initially catch it and it bounced off it was like a double catch."

He added: "Honestly shocked with myself that I got it.

"He throws a fast one. My hand was throbbing for a little bit, so good arm Tiger.

"It was pretty electric. Everyone went crazy, everyone was clapping and I think he went over there and told JT [Justin Thomas] and they had a little laughing moment. It was cool."

Agonis added that he'll put the ball in a case and will one day try his luck at getting Woods to sign the ball.

For Woods, his attention now turns to Thursday where he will be playing just his second tournament of the year.

The 48-year-old was originally planning to play once a month, but admitted earlier this week that his body hasn't been able to go through with that to start 2024.

Despite the ongoing setbacks, Woods remains optimistic about his chances of winning a sixth green jacket this week.

After being asked whether there has been an update on rumours about him being Team USA captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup, Woods nonchalantly added in that his main focus this week is to win major number 16.

"It's something that Seth and I are going to sit back and talk about it after this event," he said.

"I said I'm going to be busy for a couple weeks, so let me focus on getting through this week and hopefully getting another jacket, and then we can sit back and talk about it next week."

Woods added: "If everything comes together, I think I can get one more.

"Do I need to describe that any more than that, or are we good?"
