"Knackered," he said when asked how he was feeling. "That was a hard day man. That's a hard day.

"I felt like I played alright - I'm sorry for the tears!"

Wallace then battled to regain his composure, uttering the words 'I'm happy, I'm happy'.

He continued: "That was good. Alfredo and Beef (Johnson] played great, it wasn't easy.

"I felt like there was a score out there and I couldn't get anything going.

"I kept pushing, I kept pushing. Alfredo did what he needed to do at the end there.

"I said to him as we went in, 'great play'. And it's a lot easier to make birdie when you need to on the last, you know.

"And that's what I did. Just bringing back memories from two years ago when I'd lost and I wasn't focused.

"Then that's focus for me right there."

Wallace was then asked if he'd had to be at his 'most resilient' in order to reign supreme.

He added: "Yeah. Because I've been playing great and you don't want to give it away, you need to just stick in.

"He had the lead and I could easily have lost it a few times in the last couple of days. Especially yesterday given how hard he was playing.
