British golfer Charley Hull has accepted an invitation from President Trump to play golf together, following their encounter at Wednesday's state banquet at Windsor Castle.

The world number five confirmed the arrangement during an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live.

"I spoke to him last night and he has invited me [to play]," Hull revealed. "He has said he wants to sort a game out. That is pretty cool."

The 29-year-old athlete expressed enthusiasm about the prospect, stating she would "look forward" to the round with the American president. The pair discussed their shared passion for the sport during the prestigious royal event.

"We spoke about it last night and we are really going to try and sort a game out before the end of the year which will be pretty cool," Hull added.

The meeting at Windsor Castle wasn't their first attempted arrangement. Trump had previously contacted Hull's agent last year about organising a round, though scheduling conflicts prevented it from happening.

"Last year he reached out actually to my agent and he wanted to play at the end of the year but I think I was going on holiday," Hull explained.

During their conversation at the state banquet, the 79-year-old president demonstrated his knowledge of professional golf. Hull noted that Trump "knows a few players on the LPGA Tour and some of the guys as well."

The British golfer spoke warmly about their interaction. "I tell you what, I spoke to him for a little while and he is a lovely man and I really got on with him," she said.

Hull attended the lavish dinner alongside six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo, joining 160 distinguished guests at St George's Hall.

The invitation came just days after her triumph at the Queen City Championship on Sunday.

The Englishwoman secured her third LPGA Tour victory in dramatic fashion, overtaking world number one Jeeno Thitikul on the final hole.

Hull documented the occasion on Instagram, sharing photographs of herself in a golden silk dress. "An unforgettable evening at Windsor Castle," she wrote.

"It was an honour to be invited by the King and Queen to the State Banquet. And great to finally meet President Trump. One for the memory books."

Hull's appreciation for the American president extends beyond their recent meeting. During November's CME Group Tour Championship, she declared: "I love Trump. I think he's brilliant.

"I like how he just says things, he doesn't care what people think and he's straight to the point."

Her admiration even extended to mimicking his signature moves. At The Annika tournament's final round, Hull performed what she called the "Trump Dance," commenting: "I love it when he does his little dance."

The British athlete went further in her November remarks, expressing a preference for Trump's leadership.

"I wish he was head of the UK, I just like him as a person. He's a little better than our Prime Minister," she said.
