The American golfer has come out swinging with a fierce message for his European rivals

Bryson DeChambeau has issued a stark warning to Europe's Ryder Cup team, declaring that the United States is "tired of losing" as they prepare for September's contest at Bethpage Black.

The LIV Golf star delivered his forceful message following his impressive Open Championship performance at Royal Portrush on Sunday.

"This year's no joke. We're tired of it. We're tired of losing," DeChambeau told reporters after his final round.

The American golfer promised to bring "a tsunami of a crowd" supporting Team USA, emphasising the squad's determination to reclaim the trophy after Europe's victory in Rome in 2023.

Bryson DeChambeau will be part of Team USA this year

Team USA captain Keegan Bradley has guaranteed DeChambeau's place in the squad, confirming via text message to Sports Illustrated that the golfer will compete at Bethpage Black regardless of his final position in the qualification standings.

"Bryson is going to be a very important piece to us winning the Ryder Cup," Bradley stated, adding that DeChambeau "brings energy, passion, but most importantly, he's one of the best players on the planet."

Should DeChambeau fall outside the automatic qualification spots, Bradley will select him as one of his six captain's picks for the 12-man roster.

DeChambeau currently occupies fifth place in the USA Ryder Cup standings with 10,318.00 points, narrowly ahead of Justin Thomas who has 10,078.31 points.

His participation in LIV Golf means he cannot accumulate additional qualification points through PGA Tour events.

The top six players in the standings following the BMW Championship in August will secure automatic selection, with Scottie Scheffler leading significantly on 27,770.33 points.

Xander Schauffele, J.J. Spaun, Russell Henley, DeChambeau and Thomas currently fill the remaining automatic spots.

With no further opportunities to earn points, DeChambeau may require one of Bradley's captain's selections if he slips outside the top six before the qualification deadline.

DeChambeau mounted a remarkable recovery at The Open Championship, bouncing back from an opening round 78 to post 16-under-par across his final three rounds, culminating in a scorching 64 on Sunday that secured a tied-tenth finish.

The Ryder Cup has been a spicy affair in recent years

The 31-year-old revealed that Bradley had spoken with him "briefly" during the tournament week and left an inspirational message in the players' lockers, which DeChambeau described as "personal" but meaningful.

Drawing on his successful leadership of LIV Golf's Crushers team, who have recorded the most victories on the circuit, DeChambeau emphasised his approach of allowing teammates to excel as individuals.

He previously represented the USA in the 2019 and 2021 Ryder Cups, contributing to their victory at Whistling Straits.
