Pep Guardiola and Dean Henderson appeared to have some choice words following Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final

Crystal Palace secured their first major trophy in history on Saturday, defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final thanks to Eberechi Eze's strike.

Dean Henderson was instrumental in the victory, making a string of saves including stopping Omar Marmoush's penalty in the first-half.

As City's penalty-taker, Erling Haaland shocked fans when he passed the Egyptian the ball, who struck low to his left and saw his effort palmed away by Henderson.

The goalkeeper's performance ensured City finished the season without silverware.

However, the match was followed by a heated confrontation between City manager Pep Guardiola and Henderson that has now been decoded by a professional lip-reader.

Expert lip-reader Jeremy Freeman has revealed what was actually said during the tense exchange between Guardiola and Henderson after the final whistle.

Contrary to speculation that Guardiola was upset about Henderson avoiding a red card for a handball incident involving Haaland, Freeman's analysis shows the confrontation was actually about time-wasting.

The heated moment occurred as Henderson was celebrating with teammates, with Guardiola approaching the England goalkeeper before eventually being pulled away by Palace reserve keeper Matt Turner.

According to Freeman, Guardiola approached Henderson saying: "You didn't deserve that. Disgrace."

Henderson responded with "You still had your 10 minutes," referring to the additional time at the end of the match.

The goalkeeper repeated "10 minutes" three times during the exchange, while Guardiola added: "It's not fair play. You should not - it's not fair."

As Guardiola was pulled away, he wagged his finger at Henderson, who smiled and raised his hands to gesture the number 10.

In his post-match comments, Henderson confirmed the nature of the exchange, telling ITV Sport: "I just went to shake his hand but obviously I think he was disappointed with the time wasting.

"I said, 'You got the 10 minutes that you wanted'. No hard feelings."

This account aligns with Freeman's lip-reading analysis, though Henderson's version was slightly more diplomatic than the actual heated exchange that took place on the pitch amid Palace's historic celebrations.

Guardiola's post-match comments contradicted what the lip-reader revealed, with the City manager initially claiming he said "nothing" during the confrontation.

He later elaborated: "He defended his position, we defend our position. It's English football. Everyone can do whatever they want."

The Spaniard went on to express frustration about time-wasting affecting the rhythm of the game, stating: "My teams never try because I try to play the game that the people deserve to watch."
