West Ham are currently set to start their search for a new manager following their decision to part ways with Graham Potter.

The 50-year-old, who was only appointed as a replacement for Julen Lopetegui in January, has been axed with the Hammers sitting 19th in the Premier League table.

West Ham confirmed the decision in a statement that read: "West Ham United can confirm that Head Coach Graham Potter has left the Club.

"Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary in order to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.

"The Club can confirm that Assistant Coach Bruno Saltor, First Team Coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, Lead Goalkeeper Coach Casper Ankergren, and Goalkeeper Coach Linus Kandolin have also left with immediate effect.

"The Board would like to thank Graham and his coaching staff for their hard work during their time with the Hammers and wish them every success for the future.

"The process of appointing a replacement is underway. The Club will be making no further comment at this time."

So, with Potter no longer in charge, GB News will now take a look at five potential replacements.

Nottingham Forest enjoyed a spectacular season under Nuno Espirito Santo last term, with the club securing European football under his guidance.

However, he was sacked earlier this season following a breakdown in his relationship with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis - with Ange Postecoglou drafted in as his replacement.

Nuno's work at the City Ground - and at Wolves - shows he's got what it takes to coax the best from a struggling side.

His availability makes him the overwhelming favourite to replace Potter in east London.

Slaven Bilic

Slaven Bilic previously ruled the roost at West Ham between 2015 and 2017

PA

Earlier this week, reports suggested that Slaven Bilic could be set for a sensational return to the London Stadium.

The Croatian previously managed the Hammers between 2015 and 2017, where he became a popular figure.

Like Nuno, Bilic is a free agent. The 57-year-old has been out of work since leaving Saudi Pro League side Al Fateh in August 2024.

Therefore, a Hollywood homecoming to West Ham - who he represented during his playing days - could be on the cards.

Gary O'Neil

Gary O'Neil is another available candidate who makes this list.

He hasn't managed since being ruthlessly cut loose by Wolves in December 2024, despite being linked with a number of different clubs.

O'Neil spent three seasons at West Ham as a player and his knowledge of the club could end up working in his favour, providing he's interested.

Sean Dyche could be tempted by a return to management with West Ham

Sean Dyche has a reputation for doing well at struggling sides.

That was certainly the case at Burnley, while he also did well to keep Everton up prior to his departure earlier in the year.

Whether the West Ham board would go with his style of play, however, is unclear.

Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard burned many bridges at West Ham when he famously left them for Chelsea back in the summer of 2001.

But while he's experienced some managerial setbacks, he's currently shining in his role as Coventry manager.

With Lampard getting results in the Championship, a blockbuster move to West Ham can't be entirely ruled out.
