The French winger then provided his second assist of the evening, driving down the right flank to deliver for Solanke, whose improvised finish trickled in off the left post.
It marked Solanke's first Champions League goal and his first start since the final match of last season.
Solanke expressed his delight at returning to action after such a lengthy absence.

He said: "Would have preferred it to be a bit cleaner but a goal's a goal.
"It's been a long, long time but to be back out here and get the win. The Champions League is the competition we all want to play in, the biggest competition in the world and to get my first goal is something I've dreamt about.
"I hope it is a turning point. Something like this can be a catalyst to improve in the league and go on in the Champions League."
Frank must now translate this continental success into Premier League results, a feat that eluded his predecessor, Ange Postecoglou, despite winning the Europa League last term.
