The board's decision follows Tuesday night's 2-1 home loss to Newcastle.
Boos rang and chants of "sacked in the morning” rang around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following the final whistle, a common theme of Frank's recent tenure.
Fans also made their feelings clear toward the manager, with empty seats visible ahead of kickoff.
A statement from Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the news on Wednesday morning.

It read: "The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.
"Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.
"However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.
"Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future."

| REUTERSFollowing yesterday's loss, Frank was asked if his job is under threat, he replied: "I spoke to them [the owners] yesterday, so no. I understand the frustration and the easiest thing is to point at me. That's part of the job unfortunately.
"I will work day and night to turn this around but it is not just one person. There is no doubt we need to improve and I need to be part of that."
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about the booing, Frank said: "I understand the frustration. It has been building up a little bit - last season it was similar playing in Europe and the Premier League."
"We need to be resilient, mentally and physically. I am 100 per cent sure that it is a team effort, and it is not only one person. We are all aligned and we know what needs to be done."

Spurs fans had turned against the manager in recent weeks

Their run of eight games without a win is their longest since going nine without victory in 2008 under Juande Ramos, who was sacked with the club bottom of the table.
The Danish manager left Brentford in June to replace Ange Postecoglou after the Australian was sacked despite winning the Europa League.
