The Portuguese has overseen just 10 Premier League wins in 34 games, his first 11 months. In contrast, Ralf Rangnick achieved the same amount of league wins in just 24 games.
But while Amorim does see himself under increased pressure, United have now won three consecutive games at Old Trafford, and a cool £220million outlay in the summer allowed him to shape the squad to his unique system.
Ruben Amorim's tenure at Old Trafford has left a lot to be desired
| PAIn addition to that, United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who controls the football operations at Old Trafford, recently revealed in an interview that he is looking to keep Amorim in the United hot seat for another three years.
"Ruben needs to demonstrate he is a great coach over three years," he told The Business Podcast produced by The Times and The Sunday Times.
"We have to be patient. We have a long-term plan. It isn't a light switch. You can't run a club like Manchester United on knee-jerk reactions to some journalist who goes off on one every week."
Looking forward to this weekend, Amorim will be hoping to rectify their away form - in which they have won none so far this season, including defeat at Grimsby in the Carabao Cup - with a trip to Anfield on Sunday.
