Trent Alexander-Arnold has unveiled as a new Real Madrid player on Sunday

Trent Alexander-Arnold has discovered he cannot drive his £130,000 Range Rover to Real Madrid's training ground following his move from Liverpool.

The 26-year-old defender, who officially joined Los Blancos on Sunday, faces restrictions due to the club's sponsorship agreement with BMW.

The deal prohibits players from driving other car brands to training, according to Spanish outlet El Motor.

Alexander-Arnold's luxury SUV, a Range Rover P530 featuring a 4.4 V8 twin-turbo engine with 530 horsepower, must remain in the UK.

The England international completed his transfer for an £8.4million fee, signing a six-year contract with the Spanish giants.

The vehicle boasts a maximum torque of 750 Nm and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 155mph.

Combined with its eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system, the SUV weighs more than 2.5 tonnes.

Land Rover priced Alexander-Arnold's version of the model at £130,000, though it is no longer available for purchase.

The defender had hoped to either ship the car to Madrid or purchase a similar model for use in Spain.

However, Real Madrid's sponsorship arrangement means he must abandon his preferred vehicle for a BMW alternative.

BMW provides Real Madrid's squad with complimentary vehicles throughout the season as part of their sponsorship agreement.

The German manufacturer supplies plug-in hybrid and electric models to players across the men's and women's football teams, as well as the basketball squad.

These vehicles are later sold as pre-owned models by BMW.

The sporty BMW XM has emerged as a popular choice within the club, with both Kylian Mbappe and Alexander-Arnold's England teammate Jude Bellingham opting for the model.

The XM delivers 653hp and costs approximately £152,000, whilst Vinícius Junior selected the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, priced at £157,000.

Alexander-Arnold wasted no time settling into his new surroundings, making his first public appearance as a Real Madrid player at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.
