The 3pm games in the Premier League provided drama, chaos and controversy as usual, with Tottenham losing their first game of the campaign but Manchester United winning their match in the nick of time.
Sunderland, Everton and Bournemouth all also recorded crucial victories to head into the international break on a positive note. With that being said, here is a round-up of the afternoon's action.
Manchester United 2-2 Burnley
Bruno Fernandes scored a last-minute penalty secured the three points for Manchester United

Ruben Amorim's Manchester United nicked a win when they desperately needed it - but it wasn't convincing. A victory against newly-promoted Burnley was required after a difficult week for the club following their defeat and subsequent elimination from the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town.
The hosts were denied a penalty after a lengthy VAR check with former Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker adjudged not to have fouled Mason Mount.
A comical Josh Cullen own goal just moments later settled the nerves for the Red Devils, with the ball cannoning off the crossbar and hitting the Burnley skipper, rebounding into the net.
Lyle Foster equalised for Scott Parker's side, but the joy was short-lived as Bryan Mbeumo grabbed his second goal in a week, profiting via good work and a delivery from full-back Diogo Dalot.
But Burnley would equalise once more through Jaiden Anthony, with a long throw-in causing chaos in the United penalty box, only for a 97th-minute penalty to be given for the hosts. Bruno Fernandes made sure to stick it away this time round.
It leaves Amorim with plenty of food for thought. The Red Devils have started this season just how they left it off last year, although the win today, however dubious, was absolutely necessary.
Injuries to Mount and Matheus Cunha could be a major concern, however.
Tottenham 0-1 Bournemouth
Evanilson opened his account for the season and gave Cherries a thoroughly-deserved victory

In north London, Thomas Frank suffered his first Premier League defeat as Spurs boss against Bournemouth, courtesy of an early Evanilson effort.
The forward got on the end of a brilliant pass that carved through the Spurs midfield and defence, unleashing a strike towards goal that took a deflection to take it over the diving Guglielmo Vicario in the Spurs net.
The result was thoroughly deserved for the visitors, with Frank's side never getting going. The Cherries created three big chances while the hosts failed to create any.

The result gives Spurs a harsh reality check after their good start to the campaign so far. The arrival of Xavi Simons, confirmed yesterday, will be a huge addition to a forward line that needed strengthening.
For Andoni Iraola, his side go into the international break having taken six points from nine and, despite a difficult transfer window, remain a stern opponent for any side.
LATEST SPORTS NEWS:
Sunderland 2-1 Brentford
At the Stadium of Light, Sunderland picked up three points against Keith Andrews' side in a well-fought victory.
Igor Thiago grabbed his second goal of the season for the Bees, after Kevin Schade missed a penalty on the hour-mark.
Enzo Le Fee would equalise for the Black Cats from the penalty spot, before Wilson Isador nodded the the hosts in front and gave them another crucial three points..
With two wins from three, Regis Le Bris will be delighted with the start his side have made to the season. Keith Andrews will be disappointed to lose the game, which was broadly even, in such nature.
Wolves 2-3 Everton
Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall finished a superb Everton move to secure a second successive victory

At Molineux, Wolves' nightmare start to the season continued as Vitor Pereira suffered his third defeat of the campaign and fell to the bottom of the table.
Beto grabbed his first goal of the season, with Jack Grealish providing the assist. Hwang Hee-Chan equalised for the hosts before Iliman Ndiaye put David Moyes' side back ahead.
Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall secured the victory for the Toffees, finishing emphatically into the near post after a brilliant team move. Again, this was supplied by Grealish who took his assist tally for the season to four in just two games.
The win leaves Everton with two wins from three and, barring a disappointing opening day performance at Elland Road, in a positive place.
The same cannot be said for Wolves, however, who will be forced to wait until after the international break for their first victory of the campaign.
