The 2pm Premier League games promised huge entertainment across four live games, and they all duly delivered.
Newcastle continued Ange Postecoglou's misery at Nottingham Forest with a comfortable 2-0 victory at St James' Park, courtesy of Bruno Guimaraes and Nick Woltemade strikes.
Everton left it late to end Crystal Palace's remarkable 19-game unbeaten streak to extend their own impressive run at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium. Daniel Munoz put the visitors ahead before an Iliman Ndiaye penalty and a scrappy Jack Grealish winner secured the three points.
In the Midlands, Wolves grabbed their second point of the season, drawing 1-1 with Brighton after an own goal from Seagulls goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen put them ahead. They were pegged back through a Jan Paul van Hecke header from a set piece.
Finally, Aston Villa made it consecutive Premier League victories against Burnley, with forward Donyell Malen getting his first two goals of the season.
With that being said, here is a round-up of the action this afternoon so far.

Postecoglou’s disastrous start to life as Forest boss continued, as Newcastle became the latest team to put the visitors to the sword.
It was an even and hotly contested first half on Tyneside, with neither side really threatening the goalkeeper.
But it was the hosts that began the second period with intent, and it paid off on the hour mark after skipper Bruno Guimaraes curled a beautiful effort past Matz Sels. Forest felt there was a foul on Morgan Gibbs-White in the build-up, but Guimaraes clearly won the ball; therefore, the goal rightly stood.
The chances kept coming for the hosts, and Woltemade in particular, who smashed the underside of the crossbar just a couple of yards away from the goal. But the German emphatically converted from the spot after Guimaraes was brought down in the box by former Magpie Elliot Anderson.
It was a penalty that oozed confidence, and why wouldn't he be? That’s four goals in his opening five games for Woltemade, and three already in the Premier League. A lighting-fast start for the 23-year-old.

In the end, Newcastle carried on where they left off after their impressive 4-0 Champions League victory in Belgium during the week - their largest ever away win in the competition - with a deserved win today. They simply had more quality all over the pitch for the visitors.
For Forest, though, it goes from bad to worse. Chris Wood squandered some wonderful chances during the game, but for large parts, the quality was lacking. The biggest problem, though, is the clear defensive cracks and fragilities that are starting to appear - they had Sels to thank that the second-half didn’t completely run away from them. “You’re getting sacked in the morning” rung around the stadium at Postecoglou once more.
Last year, they were a team built on compact defending on the edge of the box. It has gone completely out of the window now, and Postecoglou is already facing heavy scrutiny on his position. The jury is out as to whether he will even make it to the other side of the international break, less than 30 days on from taking the job.

Aston Villa continued their impressive run of form with a comfortable victory over Burnley - making it four in a row in all competitions now for the Villans.
The game opened up after a fantastic Donyell Malen finish, his first of the season.
A pearler of a ball from midfielder Boubacar Kamara unleashed the Dutch forward, who still had a lot to do, but did it with apparent ease and definite composure.
The onrushing Esteve could not distract the former Borussia Dortmund star, who shimmied around the defender before coolly slotting into the bottom corner past Martin Dubravka.
He wasn’t done there, either. The 26-year-old benefited from a penetrating run from Morgan Rogers, who picked up his first assist of the season in the process, with Malen hammering the ball into the far corner from his pass - another brilliant finish.
Lesley Ugochukwu grabbed a late consolation for the visitors, but it wasn't to be.
With Villa expected to go deep into the Europa League this year, a fully fleshed-out squad will be required, so, as he did so today, Malen will be one of the fringe players that Unai Emery will rely on.
Ollie Watkins has not started the season in the form that he or the Villa faithful would have hoped, so having a fit and firing Malen to challenge and play alongside him when required will be pivotal moving forward - today was a huge performance for him.
As it was for Villa, to continue their impressive run of form after a very difficult start to the season. Two wins in Europe and mid-table in the league; Emery cannot be disappointed with that.

Crystal Palace's 19-game unbeaten streak came to an agonising end on Merseyside, as they fell to a late defeat against Everton.
It was a sweeping move from the visitors that initially put them ahead; Yeremy Pino, who impressed in their Conference League victory in midweek, collected the ball expertly, giving it to Ismaila Sarr, who carried it forward, dragging the defence towards him.
He then slotted in wing-back Daniel Munoz, who slipped the ball underneath the on-rushing Jordan Pickford.
Iliman Ndiaye scored his third of the season to equalise from the spot, keep Everton’s own unbeaten streak in their new stadium intact and securing an important point - or so everyone thought.

It was Grealish who continued his fine run of form in an Everton shirt by grabbing his first goal for the club.
It was scrappy, it was messy, but he, least of all, will care. That's five goal contributions in Everton blue already for the 30-year-old, who did not let his England omission distract him from the encouraging club form.
For Palace, it will prove a major disappointment to lose the unbeaten streak, especially given that they were on top for much of the game. However, to push Everton this close at their new fortress - there are still positives. No doubt, a tough result to take, but still very encouraging signs from Olover Glasner's side.
Wolves 1-1 Brighton

Finally, Wolves' winless start to the campaign continued against Brighton.
It was a strange passage of play that saw the opening goal for the home team: despite the referee giving the foul, boss Vitor Pereira was sent off for his complaints on Carlos Baleba’s late challenge. On his way into the stands, directly from the free-kick that was awarded, Wolves were ahead.
It was a thunderous effort that was tipped onto the crossbar by Verbruggen, only to see it cannon back off his shoulder and over the line - an unfortunate own goal.
At the other end, Wolves shotstopper Sam Johnstone kept his side in the game with a save of the season contender; Georginio Rutter timed his run to perfection, smashing the ball towards goal and forcing a simply outrageous stop from the English goalkeeper.
But the visitors could not hold on, and a thunderous van Hecke header meant they picked up just one point instead of the desired, and almost required, three.
