Martin O'Neill has agreed to one more year as Celtic boss, as the Irishman has committed to staying on.
O'Neill met with Dermot Desmond yesterday, with the Irishman given another 12-months on the back of a domestic double.
Robbie Keane was previously linked with the position after leaving Hungarian side Ferencvaros following their Hungarian Cup win last month.
Desmond reportedly met with Keane in London, as well as O'Neill, as the Irish billionaire opted to go with the 74-year-old.
After lifting the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park earlier this month, O'Neill said Celtic could be "looking at somebody younger".
Despite these comments, the Irishman will stay on for one more year at Celtic Park.
The 74-year-old's players are full of praise for their manager, with James Forrest saying he has an "aura" after winning the domestic double.
Speaking after winning his 28th medal with the Hoops, Forrest said: "When he came in, obviously, we were going through a tough time, and I think you've seen that he was just so good with every player.

"He has an aura, and it's just worked.
"You can see the games that we've won, tough games, and obviously coming back and winning the league, and then you win a cup as well.
"He's been unbelievable and it is credit to him."

"You heard all the fans singing his name, and whatever he decides to do, I think everyone will be happy, whatever he decides."
In the wake of beating Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup, O'Neill did not rule out staying on, which led to speculation of a future with the 74-year-old in charge.
He previously said: "If you were asking me, will you start back in a week's time? I genuinely couldn't do that.

"I will genuinely have a wee look at it to see. But I would be thinking that the football club, to go forward, to go forward properly, would probably be looking at somebody younger.
"I would have thought that in the last few weeks, they would be looking at options."
O'Neill's appointment means Celtic can now focus on the Champions League qualification as they look to compete with Europe's elite.
