The 26-year-old has scored just four goals this season despite being given a bumper new deal back in the summer

Marcus Rashford is reportedly 'very moody' in training at Manchester United and has become 'distant' with his team-mates.

The forward has found himself in hot water over the past couple of days after going clubbing twice in Northern Ireland last week.

Rashford reported ill for training on Friday and subsequently missed the club's 4-2 FA Cup victory over Newport County over the weekend.

United are concerned about their star man who, after netting a sensational 30 goals last season, has scored just four this term.

His body language has worried many, with Rashford looking like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

And The Sun say Rashford's attitude is alarming behind the scenes, with the 26-year-old apparently 'very moody' in training.

It's also claimed the England international has become 'distant', too.

A source is quoted as saying: “Marcus no longer has the same lads around him and doesn’t get involved in the banter as much.

"He can be very moody in training and in games and just doesn’t seem happy.

"He doesn’t really hang around with any of the players anymore and seems distant.”

Rashford used to have many dressing room allies at United.

He was close with Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba, with both players leaving Old Trafford on free transfers back in the summer of 2022.

Rashford also had a good relationship with Brandon Williams, who is spending the season on loan at Ipswich.

And Jadon Sancho, his close friend, was jettisoned to Borussia Dortmund in January after a row with manager Erik ten Hag.

Rashford is now facing one of the biggest fights of his career, having angered Ten Hag with his recent antics.

The 26-year-old did, to his credit, front up and apologise to his manager for his recent trip to Northern Ireland.

But Ten Hag wants higher standards and was clearly angry with Rashford when quizzed on the United star over the weekend, both before and after his side's win over Newport County in the FA Cup.

Rashford is in contention to face Wolves on Thursday night.

He scored the only goal of the game when the two sides met at Molineux last term, having initially been dropped after being late for a team meeting.

Meanwhile, England star Conor Coady believes 'something isn't right' with Rashford - having spent time with the United star while on international duty.

Speaking to the BBC, he said: "Seeing him like this, it doesn't really seem right to me. I think something isn't quite there that we don't know about.

"Sometimes it's hard to have a judgment on somebody when we don't know. I just think there's more to it.

"Whether that's Marcus, whether that's people at United not looking after him, whether that's him not looking after himself. I don't know what the actual answer is.

"It's hard to put my finger on it, knowing him and spending time in his company and being with England, and not seeing him like that.

"Sitting down and having a coffee with him, and seeing him being a top fella and speaking about United. Seeing these things in the press, you're looking at it and thinking, 'What's going on?'

"We all agree that the things coming out about Marcus is something we're all looking at and [thinking they] aren't right and that there's something wrong."
