The forward has struggled this season and has now risked angering manager Erik ten Hag

Marcus Rashford faces disciplinary action at Manchester United after back-to-back nights out in Belfast, according to reports.

The England international was a key player for Erik ten Hag last season, scoring 30 goals across all competitions as the club finished third in the Premier League table and won the Carabao Cup.

Yet Rashford has regressed this term, finding the net just four times from 26 appearances across all competitions.

He already angered Ten Hag earlier this season by going out clubbing following a defeat to fierce rivals Manchester City at the end of October.

And the 26-year-old is now set to find himself in trouble again after consecutive nights out in Belfast.

According to The Sun, Rashford told Ten Hag he was too ill to train on Friday.

But he'd actually been spotted in the Thompsons Garage nightclub just hours earlier, something that's raised eyebrows as a result.

Rashford is believed to have jetted out to Northern Ireland to see his close friend and roemr academy team-mate Ro-Shaun Williams, who struts his stuff for Larne FC.

But by reporting ill for training, he's now expected to be punished by United.

It is the latest problem to plague Ten Hag's side this term, with the Red Devils well off the pace at the current moment in time.

United have already crashed out of competitions such as the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

And they'll be looking to avoid further embarrassment when they lock horns with Newport in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

It is currently unclear if Rashford will be part of the squad for the match as United look to win the competition for the first time since 2016.

Speaking prior to the contest, Ten Hag said he wants the right attitude from his players as they target a place in the fifth round.

“Yeah, I think we have the experience often to go into an opposition who play their biggest game," he said.

"I think exactly every game against them, they want so much to win more than against any other opponent. So that attitude from the opposition, that is usual for us.

"But it's not about them. It's about us. If we show the right mentality there, it's all about that.

“We will manage that, of course, but also don't make an item from it [the Rodney Parade ground]. It is what it is.

"And you know, that is also the charm from cup football. Take it as it is, act professional and make sure you get a win and go into the next round.”

And Ten Hag also wants United to make their season a success, despite all the setbacks they've endured so far.

“[It is] clear. In every [competition] we are in, we want to win and that is always our approach," continued the Dutchman.

"But in this moment, this is a way to make something very good from the season but also the Premier League, we have to catch up there and to make our season successful.”

Graham Coughlan, manager of Newport, can't wait for the match to come.

"I never thought playing Manchester United would happen, you can dream, but now it's reality," Coughlan said.

"In the FA Cup as a player, coach and manager, I was always willing, 'Go on, [draw] Man United'.

"A year goes and then another year [has] gone and another and eventually you give up on it and say 'it'll never happen'.

"I've followed United all my days. That's why I was so emotional after the Eastleigh game."
