Bruno Fernandes delivered a masterclass at Molineux on Monday night, netting twice and setting up another as Manchester United cruised to a comprehensive 4-1 triumph over struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Portuguese skipper's brace and assist propelled Ruben Amorim's side up to sixth position in the Premier League standings, now level on 25 points with Chelsea in fifth.
It marked United's largest winning margin of the campaign and only their second victory in six outings, following a frustrating spell that included a home defeat to Everton and a draw against West Ham.
Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount also found the net in a dominant second-half display.

Fernandes broke the deadlock on 25 minutes in somewhat fortuitous fashion, capitalising on a wayward back-pass from Andre that was intercepted by Matheus Cunha.
The midfielder initially lost his footing while receiving Cunha's lay-off but still managed to poke the ball goalwards, with Sam Johnstone unable to prevent it trickling over the line.
It was the United captain's first goal since September.
The hosts refused to capitulate, however, and snatched an equaliser deep into first-half stoppage time through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who struck a half-volley past Senne Lammens from 12 yards.
The goal ended a 540-minute scoring drought for Wolves, whose last league strike came in a defeat to Burnley on 26 October.

United reasserted their dominance within six minutes of the restart, with Mbeumo tapping into an unguarded net after Diogo Dalot's unselfish cutback following a swift counter-attack.
The Cameroonian's strike represented his sixth goal involvement against Wolves in the top flight, comprising four goals and two assists.
Mount extended the advantage in the 62nd minute, timing his run perfectly to meet a delightful chipped ball from Fernandes and volleying home from close range.
The captain completed his impressive evening's work eight minutes from time, coolly dispatching a spot-kick after VAR identified a handball by Yerson Mosquera inside the area.
The defeat extended Wolves' losing streak to eight consecutive league matches, equalling their worst top-flight run since the 1981-82 season.

Rob Edwards, who replaced the sacked Vitor Pereira in November, remains without a victory since taking charge at Molineux.

Hundreds of disgruntled supporters boycotted the opening quarter of an hour in a coordinated demonstration against owners Fosun International and executive chairman Jeff Shi.
When nine minutes of added time were announced, those remaining inside the ground booed and demanded the referee end proceedings.
