Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has hit back at the likes of Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand and Nicky Butt over his treatment of Kobbie Mainoo ahead of tonight's Premier League clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Mainoo has struggled for regular action this season, with the England international often behind Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro in his manager's pecking order.
That has led to Ferdinand, Butt and Scholes all criticising Amorim for his handling of the midfielder, who is expected to push for a loan move away when the transfer window reopens in January.
But the United manager has now responded to their grievances, suggesting they 'don't have all the information' and that he's unfazed by what they have to say.
"Sometimes they don't have all the information and they see Manchester United with the standards that they lived here, always winning. So it's hard for them to see their club in this situation," he said.
"I take that naturally. It's a fact that me as a manager of Manchester United, I think we are underachieving. We should have more points, especially this season.
"The problem is that me, as a manager, I'm not doing good enough and I can accept that. So that is the only problem. Not winning is the issue.
Five things to know about Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim | PA"If I'm winning I can go to the games on a horse, arrive there, play with just two defenders and everything will be fine.
"At Sporting (Lisbon) there was no issue because we were winning all the time. So I understand and that's okay."
Mainoo wanted to leave United on loan back in the summer, with Napoli showing interest at the time.

Kobbie Mainoo has struggled for regular game time at Manchester United this season
| PAWhen quizzed on that collapsed deal, Amorim said he didn't discuss the situation with the 20-year-old and insists the interest of the team, rather than individual players, will always come first.
"No, I didn't speak with him, not about that," he added.
"I had some conversations with him, especially last year, and with other players, but not about that subject.
"The team comes first and I will be really pleased if Kobbie comes to talk to me about that.
"I just want my players happy, and I understand that every individual has their goals.
"The problem is that we are playing with two midfielders and you guys see Kobbie in a different way than I'm seeing him. Maybe if we play with three midfielders, Kobbie will have more minutes."

Ruben Amorim wants Manchester United to be braver at home as their clash with Bournemouth looms
| PAMeanwhile, United have faltered at home in recent weeks.
They lost 1-0 to Everton, despite the Toffees playing the majority of the game with 10-men, while also slumped to a 1-1 draw against relegation-fighters West Ham.
Amorim has called for his team to be braver at home if they're to climb up the table and secure a place in the Champions League for next season.
"Everyone knows that when you play at Old Trafford, all the responsibility is on us," he said.
"So it's a different game completely. So we have the responsibility of winning and playing well.
"[Bournemouth have] a lot of intensity, quality in the final third, [win] a lot of duels, and have quality on set-pieces also, so it's one more Premier League game that we want to win, especially at home, to have that feeling of winning at home back. So it's a big match on Monday."
