Manchester United are looking to sell Andre Onana but are struggling to find a club come to the table

Manchester United have placed a £30 million price tag on goalkeeper Andre Onana, but potential suitors have been deterred by the valuation.

Monaco enquired about the Cameroon international at the end of last month but are unlikely to meet the asking price for the 29-year-old, who cost United £47.2 million from Inter Milan two years ago.

Saudi Pro League newcomers SC Neom had also been monitoring Onana but have since signed Poland international Marcin Bulka from Nice instead.

Despite tentative interest from multiple Saudi clubs, none have shown willingness to pay United's asking price for the goalkeeper.

Onana appears increasingly likely to remain at Old Trafford this summer, with the goalkeeper keen to stay at the club.

He returned to training at Carrington on Monday, and club sources indicate the probability is that he will continue as United's number one.

Manager Ruben Amorim and goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital are said to be satisfied with the former Ajax player, despite speculation linking the club with Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez.

The Telegraph report Amorim is relaxed about the situation, even though he would welcome increased competition for Onana, who made several errors last season.

With United needing to wheel and deal in the transfer market to deliver Amorim's desired signings, almost every player is available for the right price.

However, goalkeeper is not among the priority positions for this transfer window.

Amorim is more likely to target a striker, central midfielder and centre-back, particularly if Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo becomes the second number 10 to arrive at Old Trafford this summer following Matheus Cunha's signing from Wolves.

United's immediate focus is on finalising a deal for Mbeumo, with the club hoping for a breakthrough this week.

The club are also exploring options for a backup goalkeeper, with Botafogo's John Victor reportedly on their radar.

United are hoping to generate significant funds by offloading Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, who have all been told to stay away from training until the squad departs for their pre-season tour to the United States later this month.

It's highly doubtful all five players will be sold, but the club can at least clear space on their wage bill by sending them out on loan.

The situation remains fluid for many players in the squad, with United continuing to listen to offers as they look to reshape their team under Amorim's management.
