PSG ended up winning 4-3 in the shootout, with Van de Ven and Mathys Tel missing for Tottenham as their chances of Super Cup glory slipped away.
It was a crushing blow for Spurs, who had performed well throughout the showdown in Thomas Frank's first competitive game in charge.
And Enrique has admitted the Premier League side deserved to win, with the Spaniard nonetheless pleased with his team's thrilling comeback.
"We didn’t deserve to win for 80 minutes. I think Tottenham deserved it," he said.

"We could feel they were in form, that they had trained for six weeks. They played an excellent match.
"But we had only trained for six days, and sometimes football is unfair.
"I must say we were very lucky to score twice in the last 10 minutes. My players believed until the final minute, as did the fans, but football is unpredictable, and in this sense, we were very fortunate.
"It’s difficult to play the way we want without proper preparation time. This was a miracle."

While it was a brilliant night for PSG, it was an agonising defeat for Tottenham.
Frank's team were excellent, with the Dane already making his mark following his appointment as manager.
Discussing the result, he said: “I think sometimes football is the smallest of margins.
"They kept pushing, made some subs that put us under pressure at times.
“But it’s a shot from the edge of the box – before that we didn’t concede really any big chances. I think there was one save from Vic where he needed to save it.
“Then the momentum built and they scored – of course they had some crosses, some situations, and we need to dig deep.
"But it’s basically the next chance, it’s not like they have three chances before this goal. Small margins, small margins.”
