Liverpool beat Arsenal 1-0 at Anfield in a tightly-contested match decided by a moment of brilliance from Dominik Szoboszlai.
The Hungarian stepped up from 32 yards to hammer the ball past David Raya in the Arsenal net, with the goalkeeper left with no chance following the sublime free-kick.
It was a goal worthy of winning any game and now leaves Arsenal still without a win at Anfield under boss Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal had the better of the first half, but Liverpool grew stronger in the second in a match that, barring one magical strike, was devoid of much attacking quality. With that being said, here are four things we learnt from the game.
Arsenal are on the brink of an injury crisis - but this time around they are more prepared

It's an overused excuse, for that there is no doubt, but Arsenal's injury woes seemed to have continued through to this season after they saw William Saliba leave the field after less than five minutes.
He joins Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard who have already been suffering with injuries - although the latter did make it back in time for a place on the bench at Anfield.
The three players aforementioned are firmly in the 'irreplaceable' category, but Arsenal are much closer to filling their boots this year than previously.
Noni Madueke was a constant threat to Milos Kerkez and Virgil van Dijk down Liverpool's left hand-side. The Gunners played to his strengths by sending him in behind and using his electric pace.

As for Saliba, Arsenal are currently in the process of completing a loan deal for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie, with a £45million buy option included. Add on to that Cristhian Mosquera who looked very comfortable throughout the game against Liverpool.
There are only so many injuries of that nature that any squad, however deep it is, can take. They will need their key players back to fitness sooner rather than later.

Liverpool's performances are starting to be a concern
For how good Liverpool were last year and to consider the talent they have added to their ranks this summer, they have disappointed.
Their opener against Bournemouth was a fascinating encounter and the Reds came out with the three points but still conceded two goals and looked shaky at the back. It also took two late goals to save them from dropping points on the opening day.
And the same can be said for their fixture at St James' Park on Monday. Eddie Howe's Newcastle out-fought them in the midfield, looked brighter and more creative going forward, all with 10 men.

The Reds' performance against Arsenal this afternoon also left a lot to be desired. In the second half, Arne Slot's side grew into the game, but struggled to get anything really going, until a stunning free kick from Szoboszlai.
Whether that is more credit to Arsenal's superb and resolute defence, also boasting an extremely sharp David Raya in between the sticks, is to be seen.
But fans will have expected this team to click immediately, given how dominant they were last year. They haven't quite, yet.
Dominik Szoboszlai at right-back is a revelation

With Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure in the summer, followed by the signing and subsequent injury to his replacement Jeremie Frimpong, Liverpool's right-back position looked thin on the ground.
Connor Bradley would be an obvious choice, but Slot has been opting for midfielder Szoboszlai instead - and it's a decision that has been paying off.
Nobody can deny the Hungarian's quality, but at points he has been outshone by other forwards in the squad, whereas right-back has him a new lease of life.
The 24-year-old is physical and speedy, which lends itself to the position. But it is the quality on the ball, from a deeper position, that has been a joy to watch.
During today's game, Gary Neville compared some of his passing range to that of Alexander-Arnold, and he's been enabled to utilise this more from a full-back position.
And of course, his free kick that won the game was extraordinary.

Arsenal have missed a chance
Arsenal's first half performance was strong, and Liverpool were relatively timid. The chance was there for the Gunners.
However, in the second half Arsenal struggled much more, with Liverpool dominating the ball for large spells, although struggling to create anything of note.
This was a real chance for Arsenal to go and make a second statement away win of the season, with Arteta's side winning at Old Trafford on the opening weekend.
Liverpool were far from their best, although defensively they were vastly improved. Their attack just was not quite on the same wavelength.
Granted, Szoboszlai's stunning effort is hard to criticise Arsenal for, but given how poor Liverpool were Arsenal had to take advantage.
Instead, they lose the game and head into the international break with six points from nine. No doubt they'll leave today's fixture thinking what might have been.
